| 10th April 2008 Melissa | Hi there! - From: Don't cry for me, Argentina Hi!! It sounds like you're having a FABULOUS time!! I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to write back to you... I actually just got back from a month o/s so I'm extra jealous that you're still away! We went to the US, Jamaica and Cuba... I highly recommend Cuba if you have some time and the inclination... it was amazing! (although you will need a visa). Back at work now though and although I've only been back 3 days it feels like I never left. Keep up with your blogging... and keep having fun!! xx Bammers |

| 30th March 2008 Ben B | Awesome - From: Don't cry for me, Argentina They get very passionate about their boca jnr! Sound slike a great adventure you are having. Hot tip for La Paz - don't go to watch the football in the highest stadium in the world as you could see more skilled matches played by Year 6 schoolkids. |
| 6th March 2008 Nick | Adventure Shushmenture...... - From: Andean Adventure Sports Extravaganza It seems like you guys are taking it fairly easy over there.... Looks like Tim is struggling trying to carry just ONE bike up a small hill. And I thought the time spent in Boorondara St would have been good training for the 8 days, 1 set of clothes situation. Back in Australia, however, we've been pushing it to the LIMIT. Mads and I spent whole 2 HOURS riding around the lake at the weekend, and this weekend everybody is putting their body on the line with a 3 hr DRIVE to the Coast, followed by some hardcore multi-sport action (a swim leg, followed by a BBQ leg, followed by a gruelling European Beer leg, with only the front runners then moving onto the adreniline packed Poker leg). It'll be survival of the Fittest! Seriously though, looks like you're having same kind of Fun over there (not My kind of Fun, but fun nonetheless). We're trying to survive without you guys, but it's hard. Look forward to your safe return! |
| 23rd February 2008 rina | Greetings from Dili - From: Igazu Farkinī Falls Hi Penny! Wooowww, I'm really envy with your adventures.. It's really COOL!! | 13th November 2007 Sarah K | We've got mozzie's too ! - From: Mayans and Mud Hi Pen ! Man, the travels sound fabulous. What a dull public servant life I am leading by contrast. I did have a brush with wildlife on the weekend when Tim hosted a BBQ at which I was eaten alive by mosquito's. But they don't compare to those Guatemalan mozzies...That is really all my news ! Oh, nettie team doing well. |
| 17th October 2007 Nick | All the Spanish I know I learned from Scarface... - From: Gasping up a volcano There you are, struggling up a rock face for 2 days, waking up at the "fictional" time of 3:30am (as far as I'm concerned, there's no such time), you get to the top at sunrise, and all you see is a bunch of even taller mountians in the distance, sneering at you. I couldn't handle the shame. In fact, the mere thought of it makes me want to have a good sit down on the couch with a beer and a DVD (though I am sure Mount Taylor is laughing at me from behind the curtains). I hope your spanish is going well, make sure you get the words for 'beer' and 'toilet' down pat....they're probably the most important. Also, if you find any good cuisine/dishes while you're there, send the recipe back to us, so we can experience your travels without having to leave Canberra, horrible, horrible, Canberra. Cheers! |
| 15th October 2007 rina | Cool - From: Gasping up a volcano Hi Penny! Woooww, cool! From the pictures I bet it's totally gorgeous out there... U should post more pictures.. Try to use flickr, so we can see more picts :D www(dot)bitsofrievees(dot)blogspot(dot)com |
| 7th October 2007 Nick | Imprisonment in Canberra - From: Arrival in Guatemala! Number of Places visited: 1 (Canberra) Amount of Spanish learned: Surprisingly little Number of Tortillas eaten: Not enough, though I had a chicken Kebab at the pub, does that count Number of Crude comments form Latino men: Define 'crude'......and 'Latino'.......and 'men' Number of people I am taller than: I watched a midget play lawn bowls on Saturday, So him I guess.. Number of food poisonings, scams or rip offs: Come on, we work in the Public Service, I get scammed, poisoned and ripped off before my first coffee. Sounds like you're having a great time over there, though with a diet of beans and eggs , It might be lucky that you don't know what people are saying at the dinner table. Mayan Temple, Shmayan temple. We trekked to the ancient and mysterious city of 'Quetzyl-beyan' yesterday to partake in the primitive ritual of 'Bowling'. A lot of skill and dignity were sacrificed to the bowling gods, with Tim 'Super Nines' coming out on top. Other than that, well, we're still in Canberra....yay. Have Fun, coz we're not :) |
