I am working onboard a private yacht, which is cruising around the world. I joined in the Caribbean and we'll be going through South America, the U.S, Casnada, Alaska and China and beyond. This is my adventures and photos from port to port.

So much has happened in the last month, and have been useless at keeping up to date but will try and fill you in on what I've been up to during my time in North America. Leaving Mexico we had a 6 day steam to San Diego, our first port of call. Was so glad to be back on land, although our arrival into the U.S was a rude awakening by the coast guard at 5 in the morning. Spent two weeks in San Diego, the original plan was to go up to San Fransisco for one week, but there was a big storm to the north so had to stay put. Had alot of fun in San Diego, the weather was still nice and there was alot going on, bars and restaurants and nightlife. ... read more

It took a whole 6 days sailing to get from Costa Rica to the Baja California Peninsula, talk about cabin fever! Actually it was a really great trip, not rough and we saw lots of dolphins and a couple of whales. The dolphins love to play in the boats wake, and at one point were effortlessly swimming infront of the bow while we were moving, I was a little bit scared we would run them over but they were just having fun. Also lots of turtles, they float on the surface to enjoy the sunshine, one of them sadly had a plastic bag tangled around it's neck which is a good reminder never to throw anything overboard. We pulled into Cabo San Lucas early in the morning, the first thing I saw was the famous ... read more

After going through the panama canal we cruised north to the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica. We were only there for three days unfortunately because it was a really beautiful place I would love to go back to one day. The first day we arrived at Los Suenos for a night and then left the next morning for a small village called Tambor. So happy I got a day off here and made the most of it. Four of us decided to do a Quad bike tour which was fantastic! We went through the country which was alot drier than I expected, maybe because of the time of year. There were still palm trees dotted throughout dry fields, and lots of cows too. Then we went along the beach for awhile which was beautiful, good ... read more

After leaving Aruba we anchored off Cristobal which is near Colon for a few days. We went through the Panama Canal at 6pm, and it took till 4 in the morning till we were through! A pilot is needed to drive the boat and 10 line handlers were required, half on the bow and half on the stern. Men in Row boats paddle out and throw the lines to the the guys on deck, 4 lines in total 2 at the back and 2 at the front, and these lines are connected to trains which pull the boat through the canal. Each train is worth 2 million dollars! There are 6 locks in total, sectioned by massive concrete walls which open and close. As the boat goes through one lock water is pumped in and the ... read more

After a whirlwind tour of Genada, Trinidad & Tobago and Venezuela which was viewed from a porthole we arrived in Bonaire to stay for a week. Bonaire is a small caribbean island, surrounded by amazing dive sites and with salt flats and flamingoes. We arrived during carnival so I was able to watch a few of the street parades with the glittering costumes and steel pan bands, they get everyone dancing in the streets. Was able to have a couple of days off so I did my Advanced Open Water Dive course with a company right across the road from the port. The dive site was also close (under the boat and the pier!) so we waddled across the street with our tanks and BCDs and jumped straight in the water. Under the town pier was ... read more
