Gday all Well we have finally caught up with the blogs for Denise and everyone else Today we travelled to Blackpool with Julia's Cousins, Deb (birth family), Ben (Paul's son) and one of Ben's friends Lee. It was bit warmer when we left Hull and not much wind...someone should of told Blackpool that...but it was a great day. Everyone had a great time but they left the biggest ride to last (I can't go on them) and the Pepsi Max had closed because of the high winds and they couldnt go on it...ohhh they were soooo disappointed..(I believe them really, I do, I really do. Its 136 miles from Hull to Blackpool, the traffic wasnt too bad and after we dropped Deb off at home we saw Deb's son Lee walking so we gave him a ... read more

Gday all Well after a good night's sleep in another very good hotel (The Victoria Hotel in Bamburgh) When I was looking how to spell Bamburgh I found out that it was the birthplace of Grace Darling (Amazing Grace) there is a Grace Darling Museum there...pity we didnt know about it then...LOL After leaving Bamburgh we still had to fight the winds and the traffic so it was a bit of a slow trip home...we then stopped at Marton in Middlesborough at the Captain Cook's Birthplace Museum...very educational it was too we didnt take any photos here but you can have a look at it here After that it was straight home for a much needed rest before going to Blackpool tomorrow Love to all Jules and Mark ... read more

Hiya all Today we got up early and went on the sightseeing bus around Edinburgh. We went to the Castle first and had a great time. They have a courtesy car for those with problems and with all of the old cobbled streets through the castle to the top we thought it might be a good idea to take it so Mark would make it up without trouble. We were driven through the back tunnels to the top of the castle which was fun. We went in to see the Honours of Scotland first. They are the Crown, Spectre and the Sword of State..... the history behind them is fantastic. If you'd like to know more check out this site... Honours of Scotland They also have to Stone of Destiny (Stone of Scone) there now. It ... read more

Gday all For the first time ever for either Jules or myself we got snowed on before we left Auntie Ada's. Well today we travelled to Edinburgh for a look at the castle and a few other things. The drive up was spectacular with all the snow on the ground and trees and so forth. Plans went a bit awry as some people told us it was 4.5 hours drive which turned into about 5.5 or 6. So when we finally arrived it was a bit late to start sight seeing so we booked into the Holiday Inn on Cow Gate and then walked the Royal Mile looking for a trinket or 2 to take back with us. Now dont get me started about the Holiday Inn....it was only the second day it had been open ... read more

Hiya Everyone Sorry we haven't written for a few days, but, well, we're on holidays ;) On Monday we went to York for the day and had a wonderful time. We were advised to park at the Park & Ride and get the bus into town, but we figured it couldn't get that busy in winter so we took the chance and drove all the way..... lucky penny from Ripon came good and we got a car park no worries! (Mark can't remember if he told you all about the lucky penny or not, if not let us know and we will tell you) We went to the Castle first. It's actually called (searching for the name.........) Clifford's Tower and it's built on the top of a man made mound (try saying that 3 times quickly ... read more

Gday all After waking up fit and healthy after the party last night we debated and decided we had better find a replacement for NavGirl as its a lot easier Introducing the Evil Twin We bought the same make and model of NavMan (mind you for about $200 less then the original) As I havent had a chance to upgrade the software for it yet she is a bit slow calculating the route we should be taking so she is on my back all the time "Do a U-Turn when possible" geez you would think she was my wife...haha sorry Jules We will be holding a burial for NavGirl when we get home...she did serve us very well for the small time she was with us. Well back on to the trip We went to Scarborough ... read more

Gday Everyone Well today we started out from the New Holly Inn in Lancaster (we thoroughly recommend this hotel if you are anywhere near there) We decided to drive through the Lake District and then on through the Yorkshire Dales. The first stop we had was at The Aquarium of The Lakes at Lakeside on Windermere where they have some very different fish there including Piranha. We saw some shark eggs that had babies writhing around in them (shark babies), otters tturtles and so on, a great way to spend an hour or so. We then drove on through Near Sawrey and a mile or so down the road was Far Sawrey we didnt actually see Sawrey...don't know even if there is a Sawrey (Jules stayed at the Sawrey Hotel when she was over here with ... read more
