Auntie Ada, Uncle Cyril and Jules
Gday all Well after our real first day of rest we went and visited Jules' uncles Cyril and Ralph and Gillian. We had a very nice dinner a drink and then back home again At about 1.00am while we were in bed we had an earthquake...and Auntie Ada it wasn't me falling out of bed as you first thought...LOL Apparently it was about a 4.4 strength and the epicentre was here in Hull. So we have had a couple of firsts here...the first time it snowed on us and the first time we were on the first floor of a building [View Full Entry]

Gday all Well it's getting close to the end of our holiday now. We leave Hull on Thursday morning our time and drive to London where we are staying at the Thistle Hotel at Heathrow Airport. So we thought we should actually go into Hull City Centre today to have a look around. We caught a bus in as apparently the parking is a bit hard in the city. The first place we stopped was the Tourist Information Bureau where a very helpful bloke pointed us in the right direction. Right across from there was the Maritime Museum which had some [View Full Entry]

Gday all We went to meet Jules' birth brother Steve and his family today. We spent a great few hours getting to know him and his family followed by a great dinner cooked by Steve. Jules had Stroganoff and I had a very nice curry. Not much else to report as by the time we got home it was pretty late. Love to all Mark and Julia [View Full Entry]

Gday all Well we have finally caught up with the blogs for Denise and everyone else Today we travelled to Blackpool with Julia's Cousins, Deb (birth family), Ben (Paul's son) and one of Ben's friends Lee. It was bit warmer when we left Hull and not much wind...someone should of told Blackpool that...but it was a great day. Everyone had a great time but they left the biggest ride to last (I can't go on them) and the Pepsi Max had closed because of the high winds and they couldnt go on it...ohhh they were soooo disappointed..(I believe them really, I [View Full Entry]

Gday all Well after a good night's sleep in another very good hotel (The Victoria Hotel in Bamburgh) When I was looking how to spell Bamburgh I found out that it was the birthplace of Grace Darling (Amazing Grace) there is a Grace Darling Museum there...pity we didnt know about it then...LOL After leaving Bamburgh we still had to fight the winds and the traffic so it was a bit of a slow trip home...we then stopped at Marton in Middlesborough at the Captain Cook's Birthplace Museum...very educational i [View Full Entry]

Edinburgh Castle
Edinburgh Castle
Magnificent isn't it :)
Hiya all Today we got up early and went on the sightseeing bus around Edinburgh. We went to the Castle first and had a great time. They have a courtesy car for those with problems and with all of the old cobbled streets through the castle to the top we thought it might be a good idea to take it so Mark would make it up without trouble. We were driven through the back tunnels to the top of the castle which was fun. We went in to see the Honours of Scotland first. They are the Crown, Spectre and the [View Full Entry]

On the road to Edinburgh
Gday all For the first time ever for either Jules or myself we got snowed on before we left Auntie Ada's. Well today we travelled to Edinburgh for a look at the castle and a few other things. The drive up was spectacular with all the snow on the ground and trees and so forth. Plans went a bit awry as some people told us it was 4.5 hours drive which turned into about 5.5 or 6. So when we finally arrived it was a bit late to start sight seeing so we booked into the Holiday Inn on Cow Gate [View Full Entry]

The first few are pictures taken of and from the tower
Hiya Everyone Sorry we haven't written for a few days, but, well, we're on holidays ;) On Monday we went to York for the day and had a wonderful time. We were advised to park at the Park & Ride and get the bus into town, but we figured it couldn't get that busy in winter so we took the chance and drove all the way..... lucky penny from Ripon came good and we got a car park no worries! (Mark can't remember if he told you all about the lucky penny or not, if not let us know and we [View Full Entry]

Gday all After waking up fit and healthy after the party last night we debated and decided we had better find a replacement for NavGirl as its a lot easier Introducing the Evil Twin We bought the same make and model of NavMan (mind you for about $200 less then the original) As I havent had a chance to upgrade the software for it yet she is a bit slow calculating the route we should be taking so she is on my back all the time "Do a U-Turn when possible" geez you would think she was my wife...haha sorry Jules [View Full Entry]
