Perfect last day in Rio, Francois and I sailed about the Lagoa in a blue swan, played racket ball on Ipanema beach and then I took my two favourite favela kids out for dinner. Sitting in Rio airport very hungover and waiting for my flight home. Cant believe its all over, very excited to see everyone at home although I did cry in the taxi on the way to the airport leaving Rio will be very hard as the whole thing has just been too amazing. Call you tomorrow wilbs!!!... read more

Have just got back from Bolivia, had amazing time but only 3 days left in Rio nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!! Anyway moving on from my fear of returning to reality.... Arriving in Bolivia was a bit of a shock to the system after the luxury of Brazil, no roads, 25 year old truck/bus things that barely work and food that regulary makes you vomit or have to run to the bog....(nice huh!!) It is such an incredible place and was really interesting to see as so different to all the other South American countries that I have been to. Bolivia has far less of a European influence and a much greater indigenous population than the other countries that I have visited in South America (worth it just to see Bolivian women´s bowler hat fashion thing they have going on)and ... read more

Here are some more pictures of Rio, having incredible time although Max, Rory and Ben left on the 3rd and am missing them loads. Hope the move to the country went well and that you have commenced jam making sen!!! And Wiggles hope the training is going well, miss you! Spent my 23rd birthday sailing around Rio drinking Caipirinhas, was such an amazing day with big group of people from the hostel and some of them organized a cake for me at which point I apparently became quite emotional and kept talking about how much this display of kindness from strangers meant to me!!! oh dear! Anyway after several more nights out in Rio (the 2 big J´s will be pleased to know only takes me 3 Caipirinhas to get hammered!! so my drinking has not ... read more

Sorry it’s been so long since my last blog, am sure everyone is waiting in anticipation for the next exciting instalment! We have been in South America for about 5 weeks now and having incredible time! Sen and I were really sad to leave New Zealand and team consumption, especially the Great Danes (missing you both loads!!!), not so bothered about Simon and old WHJ (for those of you who don’t know WHJ stands for Wandering hands Jackson - I feel Phil’s new nickname needs no more explanation than that!) since they were following us to Chile a few days later. Really liked Santiago we hadn’t heard great things about it and so were surprised by how much we loved it, may have had something to do with all the amazing food which after all the ... read more

Have just spent the most amazing month in New Zealand. Maxers and I arrived In Christchurch fully perpared for the harsh New Zealand weather and were pleasantly surprised to find out that it was really hot, this however did not last long! Spent a nice few days wandering about Christchurch and preparing ourselves for the Kiwi Experience. Got on the Kiwi bus on Monday morning and felt like we were back on a school trip again. Max and I were initially slighty uncertain of our fellow kiwi travellers ( especially the Charlton supporter!}but we were proved wrong and are now in fact still stalking Phil and Simon around South America. Phil, Simon, Peter, Kristian, Tanya, the infamous Helen MATTHEWS, Alex, James and the Chinese trio AKA TEAM CONSUMPTION were all on our first bus and we ... read more

So again it has been ages since the last blog but OZ was very busy. Have spent the past 2 months travelling from Melbourne to Sydney and then up the east coast to Cairns, rubbish not to be with Maxers but Jayne Juls and I had the most amazing time. Australia is incredible we have loved it so much, considering moving to Melbourne in fact! but since we have all being doing same stuff the three of us just wrote the blog together so if you are friends with all of us and have read all this before sorry but have added more pictures and a few more insulting jokes directed at JHB! Juls: Since our last entry we have been pretty much drinking our way up the East Coast, another town, another hangover is our ... read more

After hanging out with Eunice and Graeme in Hua Hin we headed off to Ko Samui. It was quite a shock for sen and I to leave our luxury flash packer life and head back to hostel hell. We went back down south and caught the boat over to ko Samui (met Canadian on boat who when enquiring where we were from asked if Scotland was in London......) There has been bit of trouble in Ko Samuai lately but I am comforted by the fact that I am traveling with the most safety conscious person in the planet -sen taking Eunice's advice and viewing everyone as a "predator" and deeming most bars and clubs too dodgy to go into -a few kamikazes later and she was slightly less vigilante!! After a few days hanging out in ... read more

After Bangkok we took the bus down to Krabi and got the boat over to Ko Phi Phi. We left Bangkok about 6pm and arrived in Phi Phi at 4.30pm the next day….sitting on a bus for 22 hours was not much fun and everywhere we stopped seemed to be full of annoying Canadian people(one in particular who had superman tatooed on his crotch, we know this as he was wearing very low slung shorts and for no other reason!!!) or huge dogs that attacked sen and tried to follow me into the toilet! Phi Phi is so beautiful, it’s where they filmed the beach so the scenery is amazing although it feels a bit like being back in Sweden as so so many Swedes! Stayed in a guesthouse belonging to Mrs Lei who basically became ... read more
