I'm pretty adventurous but this is definitely out of my comfort zone. I'm a girly girl, but at the same time, I'm not afraid of hard work or getting my hands dirty.

Hi All! Well, what a past 2 weeks it's been I can tell you! Firstly let me apologise for not being in contact any sooner as the internet on the ship went down as we were travelling around Norway. Firstly, I highly recommend a visit to Norway. We're not talking sunbathing on the beach or party-nights but the breathtaking scenery is sure to move the most hardened of people. A glacier in one of the Fjords was an awesome sight. We cruised through this narrow passage-way slowly for the best part of the day, to take in the sights; clear blue skies, snow capped mountains & crystal clear water. One of the stops was Geiranger & a 2 hour trek with my 2 cabin mates enabled me to see the best of the views. The ship ... read more
Hiya everyone! I've just spent a lovely day in Civitavecchia. It's about 2 hours from Rome. I laid on one of the small beaches around the harbour, & sunbathed for a n hour but soon got itchy feet & went to explore! I was on my own as my cabin mate had a bit of a heavy night drinking & was still comotosed (or however you spell it?!) so I left her sleeping! I had a bit of a wander around the streets, got eyed up by the local italian men, but not fot my beauty I think but more the sheer bravery of showing off the lily-white legs....such a shame! I met up with some of the officers & had a lunch with them. One of the entertainment officers is a bit of a pizza ... read more
Well, I'm back from a 3 day charter cruise to St Peter's Port, Guernsey. Pretty non-descript really, just a load of wealthy people on board to discuss business & how to promote & make their business better. Why they felt they had to do it on a bloody great big ship I don't know?! Some event company hired out the ship, & we didn't even dock at dry land, we were just floating for most of the time. Still, we made target in the shops so that's a night off on the next cruise for me. Off to Barcelona next, have 3 sea days & then into Barcelona. Monte Carlo, Santa Margherita etc etc after that. You will be certain to hear about my travels with this 2 week cruise around the med!!... read more
Lovely city albeit really, really expensive! Lovely gardens to walk around & the modern museum proved quite funny & entertaining. Stopped for a coffee here & felt quite 'fashionable'.... read more
I was so looking forward to this one. But unfortunately the people, the dirt & the general 'hate' for tourists ruined it a little. I went on a crew tour the 2nd day I was here so got to see some nice architecture but apart from that I'm not too fussed. ... read more
The place I visited was Helsinki, although for some reason it doesn't show up on here? I had the best time in an amusement park with 10 other crew members. We all made ourselves slightly icky after not giving time to rest after each ride.....we were all to excited?! Tram ride to & from the shuttle bus drop-off.....that was interesting!?!... read more
Absolutely beautiful. A real surprise for me. The city was almost divided by a main road so the modern & historic were kept apart. I had lunch here which was home-made pasta with fresh salmon, & a cold beer as the weather was so sunny! Visited a 'medieval torture device' museum which was surprisingly interesting, took some pictures & thanked god that I wasn't alive in them days!!!!... read more
I know this is all a bit late but I thought I'd put a pin on the map for some of the places I've been to!. I thought Copenhagen was ok. It was clean & cosmopolitan in a way but nothing really jumped out at me. I managed to have a look around before having to get back on board to work!... read more
Helloooo!!! I have finally managed to get onto a computer here. It took me ages to organise a time where I could get an internet card & write my first message from another country! Well, it's been a busy week with drills, inductions, getting lost etc etc. The first day was a bit of a blur with all the info I had to take in. I was given what has to be the hardest 'crew station position' ever! We all have one on board & have to go to it before going to the muster stations where all the passengers would gather in an emergancy. I got lost of course & walked the ship 5 times, & even then officers who tried to help me didn't know where it was! Needless to say my friend Vinnie ... read more
I have my ship details now! I'm on the Arcadia (P & O) & I set sail on the 21st May which is a Wednesday. Everyone is really excited for me, & looks forward to where my adventures may take me! I'm hoping to get to Southampton (where I'll be sailing from) for the Tuesday so I'm not rushing about. I've got to email a copy of my american visa & yellow fever jab certificate to my bosses at Harding Bros & they'll tell me more about my ship i.e deck privelleges etc. I'm pretty lucky too because I'm on with a training pal, Andy whose from Scotland. He joined the Arcadiaa few weeks ago so would have done a med cruise before I join. My first cruise will be around the baltic seas (Russia ... read more
