Day 2 - Essouira by day I slept like a log last night, as always! I was warm and comfy. The bedding here reminds me of being a kid. They use heavy blankets; you can feel the weight of them. It offers a feeling of warmth, but also security. It's strange how little things can send your mind and thoughts back in time. I woke up naturally at 8.30. I snoozed until about 9.00. I finally got up and started considering the day in front. I set the shower water running. The instructions on door recommend running it for ten minutes to get hot water. Fifteen minutes later, the water is still tepid! So, I took a tepid shower. It's not the end of the world; I have definitely had colder! I knocked on Ella's door, ... read more

Day 1 a Travelling to Essouira It was a fairly early start today. Ross took me to the train train station at 5.50 for the 6.20 train to King's Cross. It was an easy trip down; a bit of snoozing, a coffee, then more snoozing! I've given myself lots of time to get across to Luton airport, so no rush! I sat for a while outside St Pancreas Station.....strange! There is a huge bird cage with a swing hanging from the centre. I didn't even notice it until a lad sat on the swing and started to work it forwards and backwards.... Whilst whistling! Then it registered in my brain, it's a human bird cage! Is it weird? Or is it art? To me, it became art when he started swinging! Then my eyes, or maybe ... read more

Day 19 - Farewell Morocco I was a bit sluggish this morning, it was the alcohol as I only had two drinks, but it was energetic, and late! I went over to Cli for breakfast as the group trickled across, it was funny to uncover, and pick to pieces the events of 'party night'. We were all laughing as different scenarios were revisited, and clarified. It was really funny, took me back again to my past when I also regularly did that with friends! Ella came over to Cli to give the leaving instructions to the group, but was also able to add to the stories. She did her work, then we went round to the apartment to pick up Chakib! He is still suffering from the effects of last night... In more ways than one! ... read more

Day 18 - Beach, Agadir Souk and Ella's party night! We set of with yoga before breakfast. Ella's group on the sun terrace of the Riad, and Rachel's group at Cli yoga lounge. Breakfast was as good as always! We got all packed up for surfing at Plage K 17. To be honest, I am so ready for home now, I had no intention of surfing! I laid around all morning on the beach. Most of the group surfed. We had the nomadic tea/coffee man passing by periodically, which kept us all happy! Lunch was delivered; it was not so good today, spam salad sandwiches followed by fruit and biscuits. I did manage a half of one, but it wasn't good! At 3pm we packed up the surfing gear to go to the souk. We passed ... read more

Day 17 - Hmmm, breathe... And chill out, again Another late arrival for breakfast, but along with most today! Last night was a late, drinking night at the beach for the group. But to be fair, they all look ok! Some made it up for yoga too! After breakfast, I went to the sun terrace for a sunbathing session, a bit of background music, and a coffee, or two! I was joined by Linda, Sophie and Laura. Ella is doing her usual clean sweep of the studio, and her administration. Later today, Ella is doing massages for some of the group later. As flexibility is the click here, Lynda, Sophie and Laura all got their massages done this afternoon. I managed to have a shower, and wash my hair whilst there was hot water available, before ... read more

Day - 16 Dare I say it.... Another relaxing day! I got up late this morning! I wasn't actually late for anything, just up late for me whilst in Morocco! I woke up at 8.30. Ella and the group went for a 10k run on the beach, then finished off with an hour of yoga at Cli before breakfast. .... Whilst I was sleeping! I got to breakfast 10 minutes late, but no one really noticed! After breakfast the group prepared to go to Paradise Valley for the day. Three of us, Virginie, Rachel, and myself have all opted out. Virginie is a French lady that I have had the pleasure of spending time with since my return to Cli. She is 13 years younger than me, but yvenjoyedefinitely on my wavelength in many ways; apart ... read more

Day 15 - Cleaning day, the move and the beach at Devil's Rock I got up this morning all ready to do the yoga class; but it wasn't to be! I met Larsen, he told me that I needed to be out of my room after breakfast. I quickly rushed back to my room to pack my stuff! I managed to get it done I. About twenty minutes, but knew I would be too late for the yoga class! I decided to go up and take some photos for Ella. As I got to the staircase, there was one of the group looking really worried, he wanted to join the group but daren't go up late! I took him up, he was able then to join in. I took a few pictures, then went down for ... read more

Day 13 - Back in Taghazout, Cli Surf, just chilling! I arrived last night, dinner was good, more salad and tagine! I slept well as always. I am back in my old room too! I'm feeling very much at home here! The table was full at breakfast; two of the German lads and Huan are still here, there is a new German girl, in addition to the new arrival of 14 people from Hull University. It feels strange that the majority of the group are from my home town! They all prepared for their surfing day, I hung back with Ella, she's doing her 'emails, and admin work' and I am very happy to be chilling! The sun is out, it's warm, no pressure, no deadlines, no rush for anything..... And breathe. Yes, that's the only ... read more

Day 12 - Leave Marrakesh, return to Taghazout, Agadir My roomy Heather left very early this morning, practically in the middle of the night. Sorry Heather, I simply could not wake up, but I do have a vague recollection of you leaving. Silence is golden! I had breakfast with a mix of people this morning. We all met to say our final farewell to Khaled, I've been calling him Haled the whole time! He's been a great CEO, GADV did well again, as always! Everyone is going off in different directions today due to leaving at different times. It was sad to say goodbye to Sarah and Cy, I gave got on with them both really well over the time here. Also Gary, and, 'there's my gal' Jocelyn. With all four of them; lived the chats, ... read more

Day 11 - Leaving Aït Ben Haddou, going to Marrakesh Oh yes.... Another good nights sleep, I never fail! The really heavy blankets make me so comfortable! We were up naturally at 6.30; showered, and ready for breakfast at 7. It's been s good group for timing. We've never had any latecomers! We set off at 8am for Marrakesh. I sat with Sarah today. We watched Philomena, but although Saerah was enjoying the film, it wasn't good for her travel sickness! After about 90 minutes, we stopped for coffee and toilets. I felt sorry for Sarah, she's suffering today! Poor Sarah, the further we travelled, the worse she got... Until she was so sick! The drive is really scary. The mountains are so high, and the roads are narrow and winding, with horrendous hairpin bends. I ... read more
