It's my last day in Melbourne & it's kind of strange to be leaving here, because I feel like I've been here forever! It's fair to say I've kept Sarah on her toes over the past 2 weeks & I've no doubt she'll be only too glad to see the back of me! For the past few days I've just being hanging around Melbourne spending quality time with my little sis! On Thursday I went to the Melbourne Museum, which was lovely especially because they had an exhibition about Aborigines, which I found very interesting. Then i just took it [View Full Entry]

Before I begin to bore you all to death, I have to say a huge congratulations to Niamh and Mark who got engaged on Sunday (can't believe you didn't wait for me to do your nails!). And I must also add that Sarah being her usual brazen self managed to get our little car crime quashed, so we're $1000 richer each! So we got up on Tuesday morning and as we left Sarahs flat the fog was so think around St Kilda, as we got the tram into the city it seemed to be getting worse, high rise buildings were [View Full Entry]

Well as we went to bed on Saturday night we set our alarm clocks. Which somehow we both turned off in our sleep. Sarah woke at 8.20am at which point we should've been sat on our flight back to Melbourne. We literally jumped out of bed, threw on some clothes and hopped into our car to drive to the airport. I dropped off the rental car while Sarah went in to see what they could do for us. Which turned out to be nothing, we had to buy new flights home. Which was bad enough, but we'd have gotten over that, [View Full Entry]

We had a bit of a lie in and then decided to head to Salamanca for a market. It was torrential so we hopped into our car and drove out to Richmond, a cute old fashioned town a little bit outside Hobart. We wandered around there and had lunch. Took some photos, browsed around the shops. Then we headed back to Hobart where we stopped off in an Irish pub (only because it was the only one with people in it really!). Ended up spending the night there. Which was good enough, if a little quiet. [View Full Entry]

Well to the poor people who entertained me at 1, 2, 3 and even 4 am the other morning I apologise. Sarah and I went to bed at around 11 pm cause we had to get up at 4.30am to catch a flight to Tasmania. Unfortunately while Sarah snored her pretty little head off, I was wide awake - just couldn't sleep. So I got up, read every old newspaper in their apartment and had a shower at 4am. We headed for the airport at 5am to catch our flight to Hobart. Sarah slept again the whole way over on [View Full Entry]

Well when last I wrote I'd got up to all sorts of antics and of course the jet lag had to eventually catch up with me, which surprise surprise it did over the past 2 days so I've been taking it pretty easy. Tuesday I had a little lie in, then got up and made my way into Melbourne, where I strolled about and just got a feel for the place. Then I met Sarah and Maria after work, we got the tram up to Carlton where we had a bite to eat in a nice little Italian restaurant. The [View Full Entry]

Well I left home on Saturday and after a very long and cramped 24 hours in the air (with an hour stop in Hong Kong, which looks great, am very excited to stop there on the way home!) touched down in Melbourne on Monday morning at 6.20am. And of course like many the traveller before me I arrived with all my preconceptions of a nation of beer swilling, crocodile wrestling, Neighbours loving beings - all of this can only be disproved to me over the next 8 weeks! As I made my way through the arrivals area I noticed the [View Full Entry]

So cute!

Well, we're just about over the trauma of our bus trip the other day! When we arrived in Salta the sun was beating down, we've never been so happy to see a bit of it and our mood lifted. We sat out in the sun all say and took it easy cause we were pretty wrecked from all the travelling we did the previous week. Later that evening we took a stroll in town to check out the main plaza, Salta is such a pretty city, it has the most amazing buildings. Then on Tuesday we went horse riding, Gwen only [View Full Entry]

The bus station at San Pedro!
The bus station at San Pedro!
We sat here in the baking heat for 2 hours!
Well we went for a little drink after my last posting to reach a verdict about Bolivia or not. The pub was just lovely, out in the middle of the desert with an open roof and a fire. We both had bus tickest for Sunday morning, so that kind of swayed our opinion, plus the jeep trip seemed to cover much of what we'd seen already, lakes, geysers, mountains, salt plains. So we got up earlyish on Sunday morning to catch our bus, there was confusio over my ticket so I was told to be there for 11 as the bus [View Full Entry]
