Look up forgetfull in the English dictionary and there might be a picture of me, if there isn then somone should write to them and say that my picture needs to be added; granted you can find it with that spelling. I have now lost or forgotten, at various places, one of my lighters, swiss army knife, one of my chapsticks, passport, bottle of advil, and now to add to the list all of the posters that Ive bought along the way. DAMN! that last one really chapped my hide. The lost and found doesn open until Monday, so the soonest I can figure out if someone has been nice enough to leave it there is at the end of the weekend that has only just begun. I really havn been too upset with the things ... read more

Europe October 15th 2009

I actually woke up before noon today and left for Düsseldorf. I had an exra day to use on my little pass so I though why not go to Düsseldorf. As it turns out it is much much closer than I thought. 20 minutes on the train. I spent a few hours walking around the Alt Stadt (Old City) and then couldn't figure out what to do from then so I just went back to Köln. Alt Stadt, not much really left because of the war and all. What with getting bombed, didn't do much for preserving history. But what is left was left in remarable condition, and I'm sure that there has been lots of renovating over the last 50 years. It seems like most of Germany is all shopping. I've never seen so many, ... read more

Europe October 13th 2009

So this morning when I left I was going to get my welcome card, which gives me unlimited rides with the trains and busses, then going to some museums. I got the card, then went off to the Food Expo that I got a free pass for. Aparently there was someone that went to the thing, but didn't go for the duration of his pass so he/she passed it on to another hostler. That person wasn't going to go until Wed. so they let me have it for today. I love hostles. So when I got there I didn't expect this thing to be as big as it was. The thing took up not only multipul floors in every building, but 10 buildings. I've never seen a convention center this big in my life. The whole ... read more

I got up really early this morning, much to my dismay. I had just gotten to bed when my alarm went off. So goes life. I was really excited to get the hell out of Untertürkheim, Stuttgart. That place just gave me the creaps. The hostle where I was staying, the lady was nice but a really big nosy person. She had installed cameras on every floor, but none outside, just to give you a taste. And they were controlled in her office with 360deg vision. "I like to know what goes on in my hostle" she said to me one day. Yeah, great, but do you have to watch us? I mean one of the cameras is situated across from both the WC and Showers. I don't know it just seemed like a weird thing ... read more

Ok, so I've been super, well perhaps not super, sick for the last two-three days and havn't really left the hostle. I went to Leonburg the other day and when I got there I realized that this was the sort of town that you needed a car to get around. The whole place is quite beautiful, the whole city is built like Tiburon, but no ocean. Does that make any sence? Yeah sick urban hiking didn't sound like my kind of a good time. Back onto the train and off to the store to get my sick ass some tea. I've been in bed for the remainder of the time. Luckly the hostle I'm at I got a single room. So I've got a TV, little table, and sorage thingie. It's a nice little set up, ... read more

So after having all of a day and a half in München, which seems more like the place to go for a base then leave from there for day trips, and seeing Erwin for a little while I left for Stuttgart this morning. I'm not actually staying in the city, but it is really close. I'm freckin sick though, and trying to figure out how to read the directions for the medicine I got at the Apotek this afternoon. I've got an appartment all to myself though. I didn't know that at all, Hope it all goes well. Time's up. Love ya guys,# I#m having some tea and going to bed, at 2pm ... read more

Went out to Charlottenberg yesterday and walked around the palace for 2 1/2 hours. It's very beautiful, but after a while I wanted to leave and couldn't find the exit from the garden in the back. It's like a mini park. Went back to the hostle to get some food, then there were a bunch of us that were going to go out. 4 Quebeckers, 3 Italian girls, myself, and 2 Spanish girls all pre-funk at the hostle then go out to this "bar" that is an old building that people are squatting in for the beginning of the night. The only thing that was wierd about this whole experience was they were playing American pop music at this place. Picture if you will, hella old German building, probably a factory or something, with all these ... read more

Well as it turns out I won't be going to Oktoberfest this year. I didn't realize that it ends on Sunday, so oh well. But, today is Union day in Berlin so there is supposed to be all kinds of things to do and see. While I was out walking I found where the tents and food stuffs were set up for the festivities tonight. There seemed to be the same 6 karts, Currywurst, Booze ( not like beer, full bars with vodka, Wiskey, and all the rest), waffles, Thai food (wierd, and nothing like Thai food at all), Candy galore, and some other things. The police check all your bags, every crevice, which was kinda embarasing because of the props I had brought with me for pictures. The cop was giving me some shit about ... read more

So yes I have made it to Bremen. The countryside here is breathtaking. I mean really. It reminds me of pictures of Marin before all the people and when horses and cows were prevelent; or so I hear. Today was a lazy day. Laundry and walking around looking for a grocery store, which I splattered my yogert all over one of the isles. Go me. There are German Warmbloods every where. Horses, dairy cows, and sheep are the main thing here. At least that is what is smells like. Later in the afternoon there was that unmistakable smell of cow shit. I felt like I was back home, except for the 600 year old church staring at me with gold on its ficad. Aparently my german is worse than I thought. I understand more french than ... read more

I've now been to all of the museums of Amsterdam. Well all the ones that I wanted to go to any how. Yesterday was the Reighs...something museum, Van Gough, the Houseboat museum, and the Hortius Botanicus. At the end of my day I stopped off in this little pub and chatted with some locals. One guy who was born and raised in Amsterdam who is a painter, sculptor, mason, and contractor asked me if I'd like a guided tour of the outer parts of the city from someone who knows this city like only a local can, because this is his city. I decided to go for it. All of the what ifs were deffinately running through my head, but I decided to give it a shot. Oh my gosh! It was such a sweet tour. ... read more
