Geo: 32.778, -96.7956We landed at 10:30pm.Called a Ubber Driver to pick us up and take us to the AA academy to get our Camry. Brad Meeder had left the keys in his folder, and Loyal had gotten the keys from the folder and had re parked it outside and across from the Smith Museum. We had a good experience of the Ubber. It only cost us 12.00 to get to our Camry. While driving home, we stopped at Jack in the Box for 2 tacos.Once we got to 9511, we unloaded the suitcases and then tried to "wind down" a little. We didn't turn the light out until 2am.Sunday morning, Dad woke us up at 8:15. We needed to be at NBC for the 9am service - World Passion Week. And believe it or not - we made it! ... read more

Geo: 29.7605, -95.3698While in Nashville, I went to Popeyes to get something for us to eat. We needed FOOD.This particular plane was a small one - like walking out on the tarmac. We had to check our carry on luggage. And Glenn and I both slept about 1 hour here to the flight to Houston.By this time we had been up 30 hours of traveling.I know I've kinda of repeated myself. It is what it is. I'm uploading some photos of the last hours... read more

Geo: 36.1682, -86.7772UA routed us to Nashville. It was a 4.5 hours from San Francisco to Nashville. The time seemed to go by quickly. Glenn and I both took about a 1 hour nap for our flight from SFO to BNA.While in BNA (Nashville), I had enough time to go buy "something better than chips". While Glenn was charging up the iphones, I walked down the terminal to find a "fast food" place. I found Popeyes. I had ordered 2 separate meals, because I knew Glenn and I would probably be not sitting next to each other. Sadly, I ordered 2 drinks...but really didn't need two DRINKS, so as we were getting organized again with our carryon luggage, I handed one of the drinks to a passenger walking through the terminal. He was grateful. We did fly ... read more

Geo: 37.7792, -122.42Once we docked at the Auckland pier, we had to wait for clearance from the authority to disembark. It was fun sitting out on the balcony and watching us slowly move into the Auckland Harbor. I could see sailboats to the side. There were 2 other ships that arrived just a head of us - probably our late arrival because of the 2 other luxury cruise lines. We were texting Dad at the same time as we were pulling it. I believe it was 2pm in the afternoon on Friday, and it was 9am on Saturday morning in Auckland. As we filed out of the ship, collected our luggage and started to walk the line for the Taxi ride, a gentleman for the city of Auckland suggested that we take the SkyBus - Bus system with ... read more

Geo: -36.8474, 174.766FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 18Today is our last day at Sea. We should be arriving in Auckland at 6am, however, the Captain advised us that we would be arriving at 9:30am. That the Auckland New Zealand pilot would jump on board at 8:00am and guide the ship on into the dock.Glenn was up "texting with G'daddy earlier in the day, and didn't wake up til after 7:00am this morning. I was up at 6:00am doing my normal stuff. We went down to O'Shannon Bar and Grill for Breakfast. We sat at our normal location - I did some cross stitching and Glenn went up to the Library to get his normal Daily routine Soduko puzzle, crossword puzzle and Trivia Puzzle. At 10am, I joined the 4 Cross Stitchers in the Designated location in the La Cucina Restaurant. Geo: -34.4277, 172.68TUESDAY FEBRUARY 14I am listing 3 days in a rowValentine's DayThis is the day we are suppose to be back on the ship at noon and we'll sail away. I got up at 5am and Glenn and I walked off of the NCL Star to the internet cafe that we have connected to before and I spent about 1 hour pasting my journal notes onto my travel blog. Glenn was very patient with me as I spent most of the time picking out pictures to go along with my story. We sat at the picnic table under a canopy. Glenn sat forward with his back to my back to block the cold wind that was blowing. As I was finishing up, it started to rain. That was time to call it quits. I think ... read more

Geo: -37.8143, 144.963MONDAY, FEBRUARY 13I woke up early, so I could construct some emails and send them out really quickly on the free minutes we have been given by NCL. I can save time if I have them all ready, then send/receive and then get off. I needed to send an email to the tour company we had arranged for an excursion in New Zealand. Plus I needed to write my cruise consultant, Andrea, and ask some questions about insurance and trip interruption. Even though our flights have not been interrupted, I need to start thinking of our options, just in case the NCL STAR does not make it back to Auckland, as originally plan. There were about 300 people getting off the the ship and making their way either to New Zealand or back home. ... read more

You go Out and you Come Back! Also, its the Boomerang effect!Ship HappensToday, we woke up to see if we were docked in Melbourne. I checked my iphone messages and got one from G'daddy. I wrote back to him to let him that we were just woke up and that it was 6am here and 3pm there in Dallas on the day before (in other words, yesterday)! Glenn and I ordered our continental breakfast. It arrived exactly at 6:30am. Glenn cleared our little table and we sat down and enjoyed cereal and juice, fresh fruit and yogurt plus some muffins. We walked out onto Deck 7 and noticed that we are parked on the opposite side of the pier than before. And in front ... read more

Geo: -41.4401, 147.135SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 11We didn't go to bed until after midnight. It was fun watching the tug boat come to our rescue. As the captain said at one time, "the salvage crew would be arriving". Glenn liked that termlogy. We did get up early, like before 6am, and walked out up on the Deck 13. You could see the full moon, just like we had seen the night before. No one was up. As we walked across the pool deck and to the back of the NCL Star, we ran into Rick. He needed his cup of coffee.Again, we sat at the O'Sheehan's Bar and Grill. This time we sat on the opposite side. I ordered a plate of fruit. Glenn got an omelet. We talked to several folks - the folks that were from Atlanta. ... read more

Geo: -41.4401, 147.135FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 10I did wake up several times during the night. However at 9:00am, we got a wake-up call over the intercom from the Captain. He said "Good morning. I have some very important news for you. During the night our propulsion system failed. And currently we are out at sea a drift. We are in no danger. I have called the authorities and they are sending us a tug boat to tug us back to Melbourne. Again, we are in no danger, but we are not moving. You will all be getting a complete refund for this cruise." Glenn then said, "Judy, I called it! I knew we wouldn't make it to New Zealand". Glenn and I went to breakfast down on Deck 8.
