Geo: 1.28941, 103.85MONDAY, JANUARY 23Back to finish our day on Sunday, Glenn and I had "reserved" a board room for the Sunday service at 7pm in the London and Paris room. We were sad that we couldn't advertise it in the Free Style Daily. We have talked with the cruise director and he seemed to think we might be able to this next week.We had 3 folks show up. Julian and Leslie, the lawyer from Alabama and Norma. Julian was a talker. I told Glenn, "next week, we can't let Julian take over the show." Just think Sid Morrison, and you know what I mean. There was a 9:30pm movie in the Stardust Theater. I started watching it, but could only last for 10 minutes and came on up to bed. Glenn was out until the end ... read more

Geo: 1.28941, 103.85SUNDAY, JANUARY 22This morning, I was up at 5am, so Glenn went to Deck 13 with me and we watched us slowly pull into Singapore Harbor. It was still very dark as we passed tanker after tanker. We started talking with a couple from Singapore that gave us some valuable information about tourism in the city. We also watched the airplanes on "final" as they approached the Singapore Airport. Awesome. We ate breakfast from the Cafeteria line and ate near the outdoor pool. We were docking at 7:45am. Around 9am, we walked off the ship, however we did have to present our passport at immigrations. This is completely different than when we've cruised like in the Caribbean. After clearing customs, we went to the Singapore Tourist office and got a map. We also used the ... read more

Geo: 14.0583, 108.277FRIDAY, JANUARY 20 SEA DAYWe slept in til 7am. And we also lost an hour of sleep because of the time change. We had breakfast in the Versailles Restaurant. Oatmeal. I ordered almonds, so they had to get that from another restaurant, and it arrived as I had finished my oatmeal.Again it was another relaxing day. I did some cross stitching. Glenn read some books. We would meet new people as we stood in line or waiting. It was a rainey day. I had gone up by the pool for lunch time, to watch the NCL crew set up the big bar-b-que pit to grill hamburgers out. Then it started a down pour. People that were laying out, came under cover. They cancelled the hamburger. I took a good afternoon nap. Glenn did was ... read more

Geo: 12.2453, 109.199THURSDAY, JANUARY 19 - OUR ANNIVERSARYWe had a time change where the clocks moved back -got an extra hour of sleep. We woke up around 5am to get out on the top deck and watch the ship slowly move into the Nha Trang bay. Beautiful site. This port city is a tourist town. Off to the right is a theme park, much like Disneyland and a water park too. There is a gondola ride that goes across the bay. The NCL Star tenders in as there is no dock for the ship. We even saw the pilot boat pull up along the NCL Star. We had breakfast there in the cafeteria area out by the pool. Our excursion "Ancient Civilization" had a call time meeting in Stardust Theatre at 8:15am. Beacause there were over 200+ ... read more

Geo: 22.2855, 114.158WEDNESDAY, January 18I woke up early - and I had my clothes all out, so I would disturb Glenn. Glenn agree with me that any day we would be arriving in port, he would wake up early and go up on the Deck 12 to watch us pull slowly into port. However, since today was a SEA DAY, Glenn got to sleep in.I am still trying to scout out a place for me to relax and to settle in and cross stitch. I library was too cold and small, so I walked across the pool deck into the Cafe area. I met a 72 year old lady, Norma. She looked lost. She needed some coffee that early in the morning. I told her to follow me and I led her to the coffee. Then ... read more

Geo: 14.0583, 108.277Tuesday, January 17I woke up early this morning. I had a little diahrea. I also took advantage of getting up early and I wrote in my diary. Glenn reminded me that I hadn't uploaded my photos, but I'll do that tomorrow. I didn't take any photos on this day.We had a very relaxing day. Usually I try to play the trivia games, and the stuff where you learn how to fold a napkin, making flowers, etc, however I decided not to that much on this cruise. So, today was very relaxing.I told Glenn that if I wasn't in our stateroom, then he should find me in the library. I got up took a shower, and then proceeded down to the library. Glenn showed up about an hour later. We went to the main dining ... read more

Geo: 22.33, 114.18Monday, January 16, 2017Today is Embarking Day - the day we get on NCL ship. I woke up especially early. Guess I was excited. I have an app where I can "track" the NCL Star, so I checked to see where and when the ship would be arriving. I noticed the STAR was just about an hour from docking. I had thought it would sailing right in front of the hotel, however it was sailing from the right. So, exactly at 5:45am and according to my app, it appeared to the right of us. Cool.DALLAS COWBOYS At the same time, as I was watching the Star slowly move up to the dock, Glenn was listening /watching the Dallas Cowboy vs Green Bay Packers on ESPN app. The TV in the hotel room was not ... read more

Geo: 22.33, 114.18On Sunday, we woke up especially early to turn on the TV to watch the Sport station. Disappointingly the NFL games were not broadcasted. So we connected to the ESPN app on our iphone to "follow" the score there. Glenn would refresh it ever so often and would report to me the score. We did not see the Atlanta or Seattle game nor the New England vs Houston game.We ate breakfast down in the restaurant. We sat at the same table, overlooking the harbor. At 8:30am, we started walking towards Island Evangelical Community Church (the next stop off the MTR). It was drizzling a little bit and we stopped to take pictures, especially of the double Decker buses and of the massive sky scrapers.ISLAND EVANGELICAL COMMUNITY CHURCH We got to the 9:30am service in ... read more

Geo: 22.33, 114.18Today, Saturday, January 14, was our first FULL day in Hong Kong. I woke up a little bit early and did some journaling. Then Glenn and I took the small elevator down to the 2nd floor for our breakfast. The food was delicious. Eggs, all the assortment of breads, yogurt, cereal, fresh fruit. We sat on a skinny table that over looked the window to the bay. There is a empty lot across from the hotel that allows all the rooms on the harbor side a clear view of Hong Kong Harbor.Glenn and read the email that I had gotten from Cindi Wong (friend from NBC) and she had mention that we go to Stanley, Repulse Bay and then the Peak. Geo: 22.33, 114.18We arrived into Hong Kong, got our luggage, and made our way into the main Welcome Hall at Hong Kong.  First of all - bathroom break. Then we found the exit from Airport Express Metro to take us to the heart of Downtown Hong Kong.I had done quite a bit of research for the cheapest yet unique hotel that we could stay at.  When we have traveled to Germany, we stayed at a Novetel hotel, so I checked to see if Novotel had properties here.  Their subsidiary, IBIS, is located in Hong Kong.  I read lots of "reviews", that ALL hotel rooms are VERY VERY Small in Hong Kong.  Ibis Hotel is right on the Harbour.  I selected a harbour view, since while we are on the NCL Star, we do not have a window, ... read more
