We did get in kinda late last night, so this was helpful.I woke up at 5:30am this morning and Glenn and I went out towards the Pyramid Tlachihualtepetl. We saw the Sunrise over the city. Beautiful. It was kinda cold, I'm thinking it was like 50 or 55degrees.Then we walked by the ruins, which is a huge pyramid, which is larger than the Great Pyramids of Eqypt. Geo: 19.0468, -98.2092All day Friday was Pastoral Care Day. Zach Whaley, from AZ, a personal friend of Jonathan Edwards, shared with us on the topic of "Essential Counseling Skills". We have had Zach in our home in Guatemala on several occasions when he has flown down to help us with some crisis situations we were working with. We also attended this same workshop/seminar several years ago at the CAM office. So, the material is very good and it was a good review for us.Basically, Zach teaches us how to ask the right questions, how to listen with our actions, eyes and body language, how important it is to communicate verbally and non-verbally. Geo: 19.0468, -98.2092On Wednesday, the ladies who were here with their husbands were invited to spend part of the day at a Talavera pottery shop and learn about the history, see the pottery getting made and then finally be able to paint the pottery. Check out the Website: Amando PotteryWe all gathered in the lobby in the hotel and left by huge van to the other side of town. It probably took us 45 minutes to navigate through the crowded, small and narrow streets to the warehouse.We were met at the door of Fabrica de Talavera Armando. We were shown the minerals used to made the colors used to decorate the talavera. There is only one machine used here, to tumble and pulverize the minerals. It is a very simple machine. Geo: 19.4106, -99.1306Once we arrived in Mexico City, I helped Jon and Jan navigate themselves through the customs and immigration. Glenn already had our 1 piece of luggage, and I didn't have to pick up any checked luggage. I helped Jon and Jan obtain a cart and I loaded up their 3 pieces of suitcases onto the cart.Thankfully, my luggage didn't need to be inspected and I walked out to meet the Camino representative there. Glenn was upstairs in the food court with some other folks who had arrived about the time he had arrived.Some folks exchanged their money. I didn't need to.
