HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year. We had a nice xmas with my family here and had some friends over from London for Hogmanay Festival here in Edinburgh for NYE. Probably the most sober NYE I have had in many years!! Yes - believe it!! The rain, snow & wind held off enough for Hogmanay to go ahead which was good. It had to be done but not something I would do every year. Helloooo all, currently sitting here in my living room - hands frozen!! It's been -6 here in the mornings for the past week - it's baltic!!!! So bad that it's nealry unbelievable. Oh how quickly the time has/is going - can't believe we have a few days left til xmas. Doesn't quite feel like xmas away from home but i,m sure it will come xmas day. Well it's been a while since my last update. just back from spending 4 days in Prague. It is a truly beautiful city and I could easily spend some more time there. So many little streets to get lost on and so many bars and cafes to test! It was nice not to do a tour and to have 4 days in a 4 star hotel & we even had our own private mercedes, the most luxurious of our time away. Well it’s been a while since my last update, thankgod you say, last one was a big one. I,m feeling really well and it actually feels like home here, must have well and truly settled now - just minus all my family and friends %-/ So what has happened since then? Sadly today we head back to London. We stop off in Brugge for lunch and some chocolate (promised work I would bring some back)! Pretty town, wish we had longer to wonder round. Then its back on the ferry, her we say goodbye to the legendary L.J and Foggy who have been awesome crew the whole trip, sad to do hugs and say goodbye. It's a quick drive through Slovenia, we also happen to drive through Bosnia for all of 2 minutes, he he, but we do stop in Slovenia and stop at one of the largest cave systems in Europe - the Postojna Caves. 27kms of undeground galleries and chambers which we travel through and to by electric train, it was absolutley freezing. CUCKOOS, BEERSTEINS & CASTLE We arrive in St.Goar in the Rhine Valley late afternoon. We see a cuckoo clock demonstration and wonder around town for a while. A little disappointing we didn’t get to spend more time in Germany, lucky I,m heading to Munich for Oktoberfest! Then we head to our accommodation for the night, a really cool castle. The views from up here are fantastic; it’s a very relaxing area. We took it easy, wondered around the grounds and just hung out for the night. THE DAMAGE Another one of my favourite places!! So different. Here in the Netherlands we stopped at a clog and cheese making factory. The guy here that runs the place is hilarious. The cheese is absolutely beautiful and he makes hundreds of different types of clogs, as comfortable as he makes them sound I refrain from purchasing any. Then we make our way into Amsterdam and check into our hostel.
