Ok so it was my last weekend here, really sad. I wanted to enjoy it with some good friends and a bit relaxing. We decided to rent a car and leave Saturday morning to come back Sunday night. To get to the great ocean road it was a 1.5 hour drive and then the beautiful scenery last for hours if you want to go that far. All along the great ocean road there are beautiful rock formations and pull offs to enjoy the quite environment. There are also wild koalas along a small strip of the road. We decided to drive all the way to apollo bay the first night and then come back slowly the second day. During the drive back the second day we stopped off for dinner at a boss of mine, house ... read more

So to continue from the last blog I flew into Darwin Easter Sunday morning and my flight arrived after 12. I enjoyed the day looking around Darwin even though there wasn't much to see. The beach had crocodiles in it so you couldn't go swimming. I enjoyed my Easter Sunday with a bite to eat and a few drinks. The next day began early. I got up to begin a 2 day tour fo Kakadu National Park. We stared our journey with a pit stop to get to know everyone and grab a cold drink. Here there was a tank with 2 crocodiles in them and they were quite large as well as the largest crocodile jaw in the world. From here we went on a river tour of alligator river looking for crocodiles. Now I ... read more

So this was an amazing trip. The journey began on Holy Thursday when I flew into Cairns late that evening. When I arrived at my hostel it looked really nice. They had a bar and kitchen where you could order food. When I got to my room it was a different story. The other 5 girls living in it had there stuff everywhere and didn't turn the fan or air con on?!?! After it cooled down it became a little more livable. The next morning began bright and early at when I got picked up for my tour to cape tribilation which was in the rainforest at 715am. The first stop we made was at a wildlife center where they had crocs, birds, koalas, and all types of wallabees and kangaroos. It was a really great ... read more

So this past weekend we went to the Bush to go to a rave at a camp ground. It was about a 2-3 hour drive. When we got there we set up shop...which means we prepared the van to sleep for later that evening and got into our costumes. The party's theme was magical creatures. I dressed up as a fairy and my friend went as a bat fairy...which ended up looking like the evil fairy. The party ran from noon util 5 pm the next day. The party was a blast and then returned home to Melbourne the next day. I took some photos of the drive back because we went through area where the bushfires came through. It was difficult to imagine that the entire area was on fire. This blog was a short ... read more

So going to Tazmania was short lived but much needed. I flew out of Melbourne on Friday night into Launceston, went on a Hiking trip to Cradle Mountain on Saturday and then flew back Sunday morning. I only took a bookbag full of what I needed, I'm learning to travel light. So the tour began by taking a drive towards Cradle Mountain but stopping along the way. We stopped at Ashgrove Cheese Factory to try some cheese but they also had all of these different painted cows there. It was quite intersting. From there we stopped in the town of Sheffield. Here there are random painted murals representing old times and surrounding places. The paintings are all on the side of buildings and are so unique. Then came the main event...Cradle Mountain. When we arrived below ... read more

This past week was intersting as well. Tuesday was St. Patrck's day and I took a 1/2 day at work to go to an irish pub. There was a pub that had a big open courtyard fenced in and had live music all day. It was a good time having some beer and hanging out with friends. The next night, wednesday day I took a Bollywood dancing class that lasted an hour. We then began to walk home and found a bar who had Trivia night. I'm really not good at trivia questions but it was especially hard since most of the questions were about Australia!! haha Overall it was very interesting and fun. Thursday night I took a salsa class. That was a lot of fun. The class was $16 (so about 9 or 10 ... read more

This weekend I went to sydney and the blue mountains. I flew into sydney on Thursday and then took a train to my hostel. The next morning I got up early and took a 2 hour train to the blue mountains where the adventure began. Here I took a tour where we aberseiled (known as repelling in the US) downcliffs at different heights. We started with a 5m section followed by a 10m and 30m cliff. The 30m cliff we were able to do a few time (i did it 4). It was more tiring climbing back up than it was coming down. The craziest part was my first try at going down the 30m one. I was getting ready to repel; I sat back into the line, took a step back and when i shifted ... read more

So two blogs posted in 1 day...this is big. After this one I should be all caught up. The main problem is I can type my experiences but the picture uploading takes forever. The last few weeks here have been great. A lot of new people moved into the building i live in and I now have a wide variety of friends all international. Last weekend I went on a ferry down the yarra river and saw a different view of the city. It was great at the end of the ferry was Williamstown where we had a bite to eat before getting back on the hour long ferry. I haven't been traveling recently instead I've just been hanging out with friends and getting some work down. I did go to my first AFL match but ... read more

So I am getting a little behind on my bloggin but these past few weeks here have been very interesting to say the least. A few friends of mine that I met here at the graduate house decided to rent a house and car for the weekend at a very good price and go down to Wilson's Promontory a few weekends ago, which is a national wildlife park where you can camp and hike. The house we rented was about 8 miles away from the park but it was beautiful. It reminded me a bit of conneaut with the smells. The house had 3 bedrooms: 2 with double beds and 1 with a single and a pull out. There were 5 of us that went so it was perfect. It had a grill in the back ... read more

A few weeks ago the Australian Open began. Thats huge here in in Australia and incase you don't have a clue what that is, its a tennis tournament about a 25 minute walk from here. So even with Australia day as the first day of the week my week still wasn't the greatest. I am beginning to realize that this type of physiotherapy isn't for me. The week went kinda slow, even though every night consisted of a some tennis watching. That weekend went fast and it was a three day weekend. Saturday I began by heading to federation square to watch some tennis on the big screen then for dinner had some sushi. At the japanese restarant I had some dessert...it was green tea ice cream, which i don't recommend, and a sweet bean filled ... read more
