This picture doesn't capture the true beauty but its pretty close. It kinda looks fake
So going to Tazmania was short lived but much needed. I flew out of Melbourne on Friday night into Launceston, went on a Hiking trip to Cradle Mountain on Saturday and then flew back Sunday morning. I only took a bookbag full of what I needed, I'm learning to travel light.

So the tour began by taking a drive towards Cradle Mountain but stopping along the way. We stopped at Ashgrove Cheese Factory to try some cheese but they also had all of these different painted cows there. It was quite intersting. From there we stopped in the town of Sheffield. Here there are random painted murals representing old times and surrounding places. The paintings are all on the side of buildings and are so unique. Then came the main event...Cradle Mountain. When we arrived below the mountain was Dove lake and it was a gorgeous day. The tour guide said she hadn't seen a more perfect day in months. Clear skies and sun. There were 2 paths you could hike; a mostly flat 6km (4 mile) hike around the lake or a roundtrip 5km hike up the steep mountain and down a longer less steep way. I chose the

latter of the two. The view all the way up was amazing and the top was just breathetaking. We enjoyed our lunch and stayed at the top for about 30 minutes before journeying back down. On the way up the mountain got so steep that there were chains that you helped pull yourself up. Overall the hike was amazing a quite difficult but in the end so worth it. After the hike we returned back to the hostel, freshened up and I went to dinner with a girl I met on the trip.
To explain Tasmania...its very simular to home. The leaves are beginning to change because its the beginning of autumn over here. The air was fresh and with a slight breeze and you could smell the soil just like you can on a September morning in Conneaut. The weekend was short but overall a much needed break and remembrance of home. It actually made me miss home less because I got a taste of it for an entire day.

So earlier in the week I did go to another AFL match between Carlton and Richmond. I rooted for Richmand just because they are Black and Gold...but they got killed unfortunately.
