About Work Oceania » Australia » Victoria » Melbourne
This was my first week of my internship/work so it was back to reality. I will admit it was not so fun at first. The week started off with 3 days of research which includes me sitting at a desk searching for articles for three days in a row. I really didn't enjoy it but I think it will get better as the weeks go on. My Thursday consists of a falls and balance outpatient clinic. The way this works is if its a new patient they will come in and be seen by a bunch of the members of our [View Full Entry]

I want to begin by saying this trip was one of the most interesting few days I've had since I've been here. Also when looking at the pictures that I'm about to explain you need to understand they don't catch the true beauty that is Australia. My weekend began when I got on the tiny bus of 20 passengers...mostly consisting of backpackers. The nationalities of the people were mostly german along with a few english, french and dutch and of course 1 american. So the journey began by taking a ride towards Bells Beach. Bells beach is a very popular surfing [View Full Entry]

So again I'm going to join a few days together. Yesterday Petar and I took a Wine tour that stopped at 4 wineries. It was an all day event. We took our first sip of wine at 10:55am and didn't stop until much later that evening. We learned the proper way to taste and smell wine and ended up coming back with three bottles. The wineries were beautiful and it was a perfect day to go. The next day I revisited Queen Victoria Market with Petar and took a little walk around the city before deciding to stop at this pancake [View Full Entry]

So I added a few days together. Earlier this week I went to the beach which happened to be almost the same spot I was the day before. I went to Carrum beach with Thil and Clayton and found out that the next stop was Seaford which was where Petar was staying. So I decided to take a hop on the train and check it out. We spent the day at the beach and then caught a bite to eat later in the afternoon before I returned back to Melbourne. We went to this place that had a casino inside but [View Full Entry]

So today and yesterdays blog are combined. Yesterday I decided to relax and I took a walk back down to Victoria market and strolled through the Flagstaff gardens again. I decided to camp out a bit and take a nap. That was really the extent of the excitement to that day. Now today I got up early and caught a train out to Carrum station which is about 45 minutes from the Melbourne and only a 5 minute walk to the beach. I met up with a friend of mine's cousin, Thil and her husband Clayton. We went for a walk [View Full Entry]

New Years Day Oceania » Australia » Victoria » Melbourne
Ok so when I woke today it was kind of weird to think that its not the new year at home. New Years Day here has been a crappy one. Its been over cast, rainy, windy, and a high of 68. I still did some city exploring. I began at the Carlton gardens and made my way down past the melbourne museum. Then I took the tram over to the Flagstaff Gardens. From here I walked down to Flinders street and caught 2 trams over to the queen victoria gardens. Here I noticed there were alot of people in the area [View Full Entry]

Ok so today even though its wasn't supposed to reach more than 67 degrees I decided to go to St. Kilda beach. I took the tram from the city and it took about 35 minutes. This is more of a touristy beach than anything but I just wanted to see the beach. There wasn't much to it. There was a nice view of the city but I wasn't impressed. After this I returned to the city to see Rialto to see the city from the 55th floor from a 360 arial, St. Augustines and contraversial corner. Later that evening I returned [View Full Entry]

New Years Eve Oceania » Australia » Victoria » Melbourne
So its new years eve and I explored more of Melbourne. I began be taking a closer look at the public bathroom. When you go inside the sink is on the left and there is an automatic sensor for you sope water and dryer. On the left is the toilet and a button to flush and then near the door is a button to open the door. When you get in there after about an a minute a voice comes on and tells you to shut the door and then says that in 10 minutes if you don't open the door [View Full Entry]

Today was a new day. On my walk to the tram I took a differnt route. On the route I saw this public restroom that looked very high tech. The door even looked like a space ship...kinda differnt. On the panel there was some writing. Look for that description under the picture in the caption. From here I took the tram to Collins street. I was originally looking for St. Michaels but didn't find that because I went the wrong way. I also wanted to go to the Observation deck on the Rialto but the weather was not cooperating. The observation [View Full Entry]
