Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity.... It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.

OK, I am so sorry for slow entries. I have been going hard for two three weeks and finally shut down. I am not going to have a lot to say. It was spiritual, made me cry and had a strong emotional effect on me. Everest (Sagarmatha or "Goddess in the sky" in Nepalese) was everything and more. It stands at 29,029 ft. Telluride, CO is at almost 9,000 ft. I thought that was high..... Not even close. I arrived at the local airport at 5:30 to get through security. Not knowing what to expect, and not a lot of english spoken, I was pointed through security and put into a large room holding room. I had some yummy chai tea as I waited. Tyler and I boarded Buddha Air at 6:00 am. I know you ... read more

To sit patiently with a yearning that has not yet been fulfilled, and to trust that, that fulfillment will come, is quite possibly one of the most powerful "magic skills" that human beings are capable of. It has been noted by almost every ancient wisdom tradition. Elizabeth Gilbert .... Eat, Pray, Love My time will come. I have to believe that. Katmandu is rich in religions, temples, scenic beauty and warm smiling people. Not as hectic (or loud) as India, Indian dress and Hinduism is still very prevalent here. The mixture of traditional Indian sari and western forms of dress allows me to fit in a bit easier. Yesterday was a Hindi celebration where women dressed in saris, all shades of red, celebrated the health & happiness of their husbands. Because of the celebrations, I decided ... read more

This is a short update, as I had only one full day in Delhi. I left Agra, feeling that I had conquered and seen what need to be seen. I had crossed off one of those 1000 places in my mind that needed to see in my life. It was everything and more. Besides the Taj Mahal, it was peaceful to hear the Muslims of the city being called to worship by chanting. It occurred five times a day & when I was around, I opened the windows and let it float into the room. Peaceful and calming. I arrived at the airport to find it was a military base. Entrance is only for ticket holders, your name is checked at the gate. No worries. A bit strange, but no worries. Things were smooth, I ... read more

PIERRE AUGUSTE RENOIR: The pain passes, but the beauty remains. This is the Taj Mahal. The seven hour journey from Jaipur was exhausting. I was happy to check in, get a good meal, get unpacked and prepare for the early morning trip to the Taj Mahal. I had been up since 5 am, I knew today would be the same. First order of business was to check email and touch base. Porter and crew....you caught me off guard and it took me forever to figure out who it was. I thought someone had skyped me by mistake. Thanks for the very early birthday song. It made my day. We will catch up soon!!!!! Go DAWGS! As I was on the computer, I was able to see the distinct dome from my hotel room .... teasing me. ... read more

The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when you discover that someone else believes in you and is willing to trust you with a friendship..... Ralph Waldo Emerson First, apologies to all that did not know I was leaving or what I was going through. When someone and/or something shakes you to the core, it is all you can do to get through the day. To relive it over and over was/is still to painful. I am on the road to recovery and will willingly take all those hugs that you have been sending me upon my return. I want to thank all of you for the kind words of encouragement and support you have been ... read more

Yes , I finally made it . Boy is it different. I was lucky to have meet a boy on the way into the domestic airport that was a Native Indian, but lived in Charlotte and worked for Wachovia. Since we both had all night to wait for our flights, we stuck to each other like glue and I got to know a new friend in Charlotte. Not the hot Swede Alice was hoping for, but I was glad to have him there because of all the stares I received. I only saw 2 other non Indians in the airport. I Skyped Melissa and got to speak to the kids and get a taste of home. The bad thing is they get to see me at 3 am looking close to a low point. Anyway.....Bypassing Mumbai ... read more

Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates vision for tomorrow. .........Melodie Beattie The events of the last 6 weeks blindsided me and has unravelled in ways I would never imagine. It all started with the words "I am kinda having a commitment issue" and ended up with me getting on a flight to Mumbai with a backpack, a computer, some of Tyler's ashes and a broken heart. Life is strange. As most you don't and few of you do, I left August 21st on an extended three month ... read more
