It is with much intention and purpose that I set out to travel in Nicaragua as a solo female backpacker. This experience of speaking Spanish, traveling with locals and living in homestay has been a dream of mine. The weight of accomplishing this goal, now that is here makes me shiver with fear and perhaps shed a few tears of fright and nervousness. That is why I have to dedicate these blogs to my husband who has told me all along, "You can do it, you should go, it's never too late." Many travelers and family and friends question why we aren't traveling together on this trip. There are many outstanding circumstances to explain why, but its not my job to make others understand my new marriage and long time relationship. It's simple, he supports me. For you, Dain Bassett.
