Where this adventure and blog takes place, there is a behind the scenes love story happening. We taught English in the great city of Buenos Aires and each month traveled to new region in this vast country. Unforgettable encounters with people, nature and our own true selves is what I blogged about. Realistically, this story will forevermore be how DB and I figured out love.
When we set foot for Argentina, DB and I had been dating for just over a year. The choices were to go our separate ways or to stay together. That choice in itself was a leap of faith. We encountered challenges neither one of us had ever experienced as individuals. There were temptations, opportunities and sacrifices all around us, but we both CHOSE to be together.
Most importantly, we learned about each other as we learned about ourselves. Deep in the wilderness we learned to merge our levels successfully. We developed a habit of taking turns. We learned how to meet halfway, and how to effectively and ineffectively communicate. In Argentina, we learned to FORGIVE.
All of our learnings took place in much the same way as other life lessons. How do children learn about fire? How does a puppy become housebroken? Each of our lessons took place with time, patience, persistence and certainly there was pain.
Argentina awarded us the beginning of a journey that will last a lifetime.
