Sending some peace down low
NOTE: the SUN
Here is Taimi

Okay ya'll... Just cuz I'm in school doesn't mean I don't get out. This summer was amazing, and the climbing endless. In Boulder, there are thousands of climbs within 10 minutes of your doorstep. In August, Duncan and Karl came out for a 4 day climb trip, and soon I'll be headed to Mexico to see them again. Boulder - to anyone that hasn't been here - is one big happy bubble. Once you come, you don't ever want to leave. There are so many people who come here to visit, and just decide that this is it for them. Here, [View Full Entry]

Second go-round... Back on Kalymnos. Two weeks of climbing, three rest days, swollen fingers, fire in my muscles, and David Sharpe! Beautiful People My new friend Shay Har-noy lives in America, but we ended up crossing paths in Israel. I was telling him how one of the things I love about climbing is all the hot men with their tops off. He exclaimed, "I know! You would think other women would have caught on by now! Even men who are in their forties with kids will still have six-packs." Dave Sharpe drew my attention to the obvious. Women who climb are [View Full Entry]

Finding my family in Israel was like winning the lottery. I have some of the cutest cousins on this planet! Shay is the oldest. Uval is the sandwich child. Neer is the newborn. The oldest, Shay, seven years old, is a great older brother, and lets Uval win at games for his self-esteem (actually, he let's him win because his dad asks him to, and Uval cries if he doesn't win). Shay is filled with compassion and asked me where I learned English. I told him (in Hebrew) the same place he learned Hebrew. He laughed at the obviousness of the [View Full Entry]

In My Heaven Middle East » Jordan » South » Wadi Rum
This is what a corner of my heaven looks like. Climbing in the Middle East Climbing in Wadi Ram in Jordan is simply the BEST climbing I have ever done in my life. There are more pictures and videos to come, but I will tell you that it is sandstone, trad climbing, and multi-pitches that seem to go on for miles. In my heaven (when I pass on from earth) I am going to stay there. But the only downfall is that there is no beach. Which is why I have not yet picked up and moved residences there. If anyone [View Full Entry]

The Friedlands Pictures of the Friedlands are below. I am so blessed to still be connected to this family. I have known them since I was a girl of 12. I used to babysit them, and here they are... all grown up! It is so much fun to have friends from so long ago and to see how we all mature and grow. Building life-long friendships is priceless. Some pictures are of Stephen (the second oldest) winning his award for Valor in the Lebanese War. The Burden of Israel "The burden of Israel is divided between those who fight, and [View Full Entry]

You go with what you have Europe » Greece » South Aegean » Kos
Kalymnos, Greece is Paradise. Plain and simple. The weather is perfect. The climbing is amazing. The water is crystal clear. The food is delicious. You wake up in the morning, and you take the scooter over to the climbing sector. You hike about 15-20 minutes, and voila. Many climbs, at many levels, and some with beautiful stalagtites. Around 2pm, the sun comes out and so by now you are ready to head to the beach. You hike down, change into your swim suit, and head for the water. You cool off in the water, lay by the beach, grab some [View Full Entry]

Good Day, Kalymnos, Greece! I arrived in Athens and took a good look at the fabulous architecture sites there. The next day I came into Kalymnos and just happened to walk into the exact week of the International Dive Festival of Kalymnos. This means that I get to dive for the next two weeks FOR FREE. Sponges Okay, let's back up. Kalymnos is famous for their sponges. The problem is that for the last 25 years, the mayors of the small island didnt promote tourism, they promoted the destruction of the natural wildlife -sponges - because foreigners wanted [View Full Entry]

Switzerland Sucks. No wonder they have the largest suicide rate. Hell, I wanted to commit suicide when I was there! I went to Geneva, Luzern, and got tired of Switzerland (it didnt hold a candle to any of the other countries I have visited) so I decided to get the hell out of dodge. I booked a flight to Greece from Milan, Italy. How to get to Milan? Well, 350+ Swiss Franks (I told you to pull out your wallet) so I thought, "hell no!" and set off to hitch-hike to Milan. A wonderful gentleman dropped me off in a small [View Full Entry]
