This blog will be a story of a Hungarian lass and an English bloke who met at a wedding, spent 100 days (in 1 ½ years) together, and decided to throw it all in and go for the next BIG ADVENTURE!
During the next 8 months we are desperately in need of trading in the infinite working hours/days/weeks, for something all-together more exotic, challenging, inspiring, exciting and gratifying; in one word - renewing.
We can’t wait to ‘look out of our heads’ at all those crazy people in the world, and think gratefully ‘thank God that’s no longer us!!!’.

Having only 3 weeks to explore Australia, we decided to travel from Sydney (where we arrived) up the east coast in a campervan to Cairns (where we were due to fly out). It all started though with a few days to explore Syndey, and luckily for us we were there during the ‘Australia Day’ celebrations! During the day Sydney harbor was filled with boats of all kinds waving flags, with helicopters dangling huge flags, and thousands of people all milling around the downtown area. It was a really nice way to pass the day just walking around taking in the famous sights and watching the live music around the city. In the evening it was off to Darling Harbor where the fireworks were set off as the finale to the days events. Like most people, we ... read more

Our excitement of getting to visit New Caledonia dampened a bit when we started researching how much it costs to stay there! Definitely it has imported prices as well as the language from France, and thats a real shame for backpackers. Új-Kaledónia látogatása iránt érzett lelkesedésünket kissé lehűtötte mikor rájöttünk, hogy milyen sokba is fog ez nekünk kerülni. Nemcsak a nyelvet, de az árakat is importálták Franciaországból. With only a short time available we opted to visit the most talked about location in New Caledonia, the remote island of L’lle des Pins (Isle of Pines). The only way to get there is by ferry which runs only 3 days a week, making the island paradise feel very isolated. We had a fun journey as the cyclone that had affected us in Fiji had passed nearby and ... read more

One of the problems with visiting these regions filled with tropical islands is trying to figure out which island to visit! They all look so nice its so hard to choose… Thankfully in Fiji we had some help at the tourist office and choose Mana Island where we were to spend 4 days. It was described as a beautiful island with great beaches and snorkelling, with a tiny local community so we could actually get to meet some locals. It turned out to be a very accurate description, but they forgot to mention that the people there are fantastic! People were so friendly and welcoming that at first our suspicious backpackers’ minds were convinced they had an ulterior motive… But they didn’t, they were just great people who were happy to have us visit their island ... read more

Finally we had made it to this infamous country, infamous because this was my second visit (Andy) and I had previously declared it to be my favorite country! Praise indeed, and I was really hoping it could live up to it in Briggi’s eyes. Perhaps the most important aspect of New Zealand is that the people are so friendly, and we were reminded of that as we went through customs and the customs man treated us like a long lost friend. Wonderful country, nowhere else could I imagine such a reception at the border controls. Tahiti után Új-Zéland következett. Azt hiszem a világ legbarátságosabb országa, melyet már az országba érkezéskor megtapasztalhattunk. A kedvesen mosolygó vámos úgy kezelt bennünket, mint régi barátokat. Our first night we spent in Auckland without seeing any of the town (the inside ... read more

We visited Tahiti primarily because it’s a compulsory stop off between the Easter Island and New Zealand. We decided to make the most of it and invested 5 days into staying on one of its many tropical islands called Huahine. We were fortunate enough to have a good friend of ours (Natalie) fly in and stay with us while we were there - it was so strange (but great!!) to have a friend from home out there with us! We all ... read more

Easter Island was one stop on our trip that we really had to fight hard to get included in our round the world ticket as it’s not on the main world routes. And we shopped around many travel agencies until we found one that could help us get there on a RTW ticket. We both felt that to reach Chile and not to visit the famous Easter Island which we both had a curious interest in would be a waste. Szamunkra a Husvet-Szigetet megnezni, hamar a “kornyeken” jartunk, muszaj volt. Alapvateoen ez dontotte el, hogy melyik utazasi iroda ajanlatat fogadjuk el, mivel a Husvet-Sziget jellemzoen nem resze a tipikus RTW (Round The World=Vilagkoruli) jegynek. We had five days on the island, which was perfect considering you can walk the length of it in one day if ... read more

As any guidebook on Chile will testify, there are a lots of beautiful areas to visit in Chile if you enjoy getting into virginal countryside. However, as time was limited for us we chose to visit the most famous, the mountains of Torre Del Paine. As mentioned in our last blog, we made a 3 day trip out of El Calefate in Argentina to take in as many of the sights as possible with a rentacar. Chile valoban a termeszeti csodak tarhaza, de sajnos szokas szerint szukre szabtuk a lehetosegeinket. Igy a rendelkezesre allo 3 napban a hires Torres del Paine nemzeti parkot latogattuk meg. The first day was mainly about getting into the national park and finding a place to camp for the night. It should have been quite a boring day, sat in the ... read more

Our dream of finding soft beds and showers as we entered Argentina following our tiring trip in the wilderness of Bolivia was to remain just a dream… In fact we got just the opposite! We crossed the border at sunset and discovered the first lie of our Bolivian salesman; the bus wasn’t going to have the nice reclining seats he promised! Having wasted the evening in a cafe we got on the bus heading for Buenos Aires at midnight for a massive 22 hour journey. Just to really frustrate us it turned out the journey was actually 28 hours! Cheeky Bolivian salesman… Almunk, hogy meleg agy es tusolas var rank Argentinaban Bolivia utan, sajna alom maradt. Sot, epp az ellenkezoje tortent! Ahogy a nap lebukkott a horizonton, mi is atleptuk a boliviai-argentin hatart es szembesultunk a ... read more

We entered northern Bolivia alongside the Lake Titicaca coming from Peru. The first town, Copacabana was a gateway to visit some of the Bolivian islands on the lake but we decided to save some time by skipping them (although we only heard good reviews of them). After a lunch break on the lake, and the most disappointing spaghetti carbonara I have ever eaten (and I’ve had bad ones - sometimes I even cook for myself), we bused it onto the capital La Paz. Boliviaba Perubol a Titicaca to partjan/keresztul jutottunk. Az elso varos Copacabana, mely kapu a to boliviai oldalan talalhato szigetekhez, mint a Nap es Hold szigete, mely az inkak bolcsoje. Peru has got quite a name for itself amongst travellers with its beautiful mountains and the infamous Machu Pichu, and we were really looking forward to see it for ourselves. It’s also not the safest of South American countries, which we did realize throughout our stay, but thankfully never experienced anything bad ourselves. Being paranoid over ourselves and belongings seemed to deter the would-be thieves. Peru neve egyet jelent a 6-7 ezer meteres hegyekkel, a Titicaca toval es termeszetesen a Machu Pichuval, igy ertelemszeruen mi is nagyon vartuk, hogy sajat szemunkkel lathassuk. Azonban Peru nemcsak szep, hanem veszelyes is. Alapveto jo tanacs: ne utazz taxival.
