I am writing this from the beautiful city of Cusco... an amalgamation of tumbling down houses, colonial architecture and Inca buildings. The streets are full of hawkers, eager to sell you the touristy things; hats, gloves, dolls, cigarettes...anything and everything. The weather is cold but the sun is strong. I have fallen in love with the place. We arrived early afternoon into the Capital of the Incas and straight away set about exploring this fasincating and colourful city. From the bustling cetral plaza we found it easy to explore the different areas of the city. The following day, with our guide Helga, we visted The sacred vally; Ollantaytambo, Pisac. Sorry its been a while coming but here we go.... The flight to Sao Paulo was 12hours but all went smoothly, we arrived early morning and made our way into town on the bus...yes, we mastered the public transport system of Brazil with no understanding of portugese!! We found a place to stay... not the cheapest but we decided to go in a safe area because we were told there are quite a few dodgy places! It was a sunday when we arrived so seemed to be quiet, in the afternoon we made are way in to the centre (downtown) on the tube which is very clean and on time! Hi everyone! Welcome to my travel blog! Myself and George are making the final preparations before we leave on the 27th December for Sao Paulo before flying onto Lima, Peru. We had intended to fly straight onto Peru on 28th but the flights were £200 cheaper if we waited 2 days so we arrive in Lima on 30th... just in time for New Year! From there we are travelling around peru for about 3 weeks with Jon before heading down to Argentina through Bolivia, Paraguay and parts of Brazil. After 2 months in South America we head on over to NZ where we travel the North and South Islands in a campervan with my mum, who will be doing 4 weeks in NZ and 1 week in sydney with me before flying home.
