ok so ´heidi in japan´ is no longer fitting because heidi esta en españa ... but that would mean sorting out a whole new website which I can´t be fiddled to do so continue to keep up to date with my next adventure on this site!

i will spend the next 2 months working as an english teacher at a spanish summer camp in burgos... i can´t wait!

i don´t know how much free time i will have so i may not be able to write regular blogs but i don´t want to disappoint my fan club - well, helen! - who have become so addicted to my blogs!

i may even consider publishing a series of ´heidi in... ´ books when i´ve completed my travels! xx

Yet another exciting year of living abroad has quickly come to an end! My final few months at work were very busy and one of the scariest moments involved mumbling my way through around 40 parents meetings... in Spanish! Oh yikes, another few months have gone by without a travel blog update! I just don’t seem to have the free time here that I had in Japan! Another week has whizzed by at school and I’m getting more of a handle on what I’m supposed to be doing in my classes… I’m even starting to like the teenagers - well, a little bit anyway! We’ve just had a long weekend and so enjoyed a few day trips with Tim and Silvia, 2 of the other teachers here who we get along really well with. boat trip for phil´s birthday

I had my induction at the school about a week and a half ago… there were 5 other teachers starting at the same time as me and there’s about 25 teachers altogether at the school. We had lots of meetings with different teachers about the timetables and routines for each class we have… our heads were just buzzing by the end of it all! Another week has flown by and I’ve been making the most of my free time... consuming plenty of ice cream and sunning myself basically! I’m already starting to get my bearings around the centre and not rely quite so heavily on my trusty little map! Gosh, has it really been a month since I last wrote on my blog?! Ok, a bit of an update is therefore in order! saying goodbye to my brilliant kiddies

after waving goodbye to the fabulous group of kids that we had in the third shift, me and 4 of the other teachers jumped on a bus to san sebastian - a 3 hour trip away - to chill out by the beach. we stayed in a hostel called ´ocean view´ and it certainly had the most stunning view of the water! after we had settled in, we had a walk down the streets with an ice cream and obviously stopped off in an outside bar to soak up the sun and knock back a few beers. in the evening, we [View Full Entry]
