Hi Heidi! This may be a little weird, but I am a student at Hollins University who just got back from studying abroad in Sevilla, and I enjoyed your blog thoroughly! I was in Sevilla for most of the things you wrote about actually. I miss it a lot. I actually have a question for you. Are you just travelling around the world teaching English through contract jobs? It's an idea I've played with but I wasn't sure if it was possible. I really want to go into the JET program and wondered if that was how you had visited Japan.... If it's okay I would love to add you on FB and check out some of your pics! Thanks so much for the great blog! Amanda

Hi The photos are still black, your lucky I have to live with a teenager, they are hard work. I am glad I don't work with them. I think you should go to kenya or some where like that. Maybe you could start up your own school in a poor country! You must be back home now and ready for your next adventure. I am back to uni soon, work is fine just getting back into the swing of things. The new nursery/reception building is lovely I have asked if we can have their toilets up the top end. Mrs Hicks is still golly goshing every where! Tracey has scared a child already, bless her and we just keep gaining more and more kids. Dylan sat up on saturday for the first time, he is 5 months now. His so big and cheeky and has me wrapped round his little finger. Oh well I must go to bed. Speak soon take care love helen. xxx

Hi, I would enjoy the photos more if I could see them! All I am getting is a black box. You lot are worse than the kids for being naughty. Eleri asked the kids in assembly which teacher is naughty and they answered Mrs Clifton would you believe that! I was so embarrased. I am just catching up with your news, I have been very busy. Sounds like you are having so much fun bit worried about your teenage counciling, the poor boy was destrought. right I am going to carry on reading the rest of your news. Bye for now.xxx

You need to sleep more you can't burn the candles at both ends. I would of kicked Matt of the bed though, your the lady after all. The places you've been seeing look wonderful. I've never really thought of Japan as somewhere I'd like to visit, but I've certainly changed my opinion now. Lots of people are going down with various lurgies at St Bart's right now, as the weather turns colder. Lots of staff and children off ill and those staff who are in looking paler and tireder every day. Could be your organisation might see a flood of applications from Coventry next year.

Hi again, I thought you were going to say you would change the briefcases around and watch the fun as the people tried to find their own one. You might succeed in getting the teachers to leave on time when you leave at the end of your contract- are you having a leaving do? That might be the incentive!!Have a great time showing your mum and dad the sites.Catch up with you later-Elaine

Oh dear them boys do look desperate bless them. i can't imagine mindy with her new hair do you will have to send a photo. it will be lovely for you to see your ma and pa. i have been xmas shopping was doing well until i went to get on the bus to go home and dropped a bag which happened to have a breakable present in. i wasn't happy. i had ellie and dan today we fed the horses by st barts church. i showed ellie some of your photos and tried to show her the video of sports day but it wouldn't open up that was a shame. ellie made me laugh because she saw your name and kept asking questions about you saying heidi every time. have fun at work helen xx

Hi again,The park looks very interesting - a pity you don't know abit more about the hisory. Don't they sell tourist guides in English. The artwork on the photos you took looks very detailed and all freehand from what I could see. Obviously they seem quite focussed to draw for that lenght of time. I expect the pizza bar will be frequented oten now! Has there been any comments about you taking your own dinners into school?Carry on smiling! Elaine

Happy Birthday - From: off to hotel #5 tomorrow...
Hope you have a really good day today, Heidi, and a very happy birthday. Funnily enough, I too was relaxing over a glass or two or red wine last night, possibly for much the same reason as Lesley (GCSE results out yesterday). Not sure what the tipple of choice is where you are, but hope you have the opportunity to celebrate. Take care, love Jan

hi Heidi, just caught up with your adventures after Lesley sent them on, I'm not on the school e-mail list (my choice). You've certainly hit some highs and lows and covered soooo much in a short time. I'm sure all will improve once the work routine starts, enjoy it all. I've just had a lazy week in Spain, with daughter Jenni, in an apartment about an hour south of Alicante - our view was roof tops and more roof tops with just a tatty dusty palm tree or two. You had all the trees! Keep writing the blog - you could become another Bill Bryson by turning it into a travel block buster! Love Janice xx

Hi Heidi, Decided to write on this site now. Looks as if you are nearer to settling! Ive been looking at googlearth to follow where you are. It's my way of travelling!! I now need to get the atlas out to find the name of the river! Will you think of having a car out there or is public transport O.K? Anyway carry on enjoying yourself - how did you manage to keep quiet when your 'guide' was on the phone? Only joking. All the very best.

HIYA! - From: road trip?!
Hi ya Heidi, wow it certainly sounds like you are having an adventure - exactly what you went for? I have just caught up on all your blogs and you are doing really well. It sounds like you are now in a location that makes you fell at ease by meeting your needs for the weekends and travelling. Just think you could be back in Coventry how unexciting that does sound? What you are doing will throw up challenges but take them in your own stride and YOU WILL be fine! With the training and teaching starting you will be making friends now in no time, the difficult be is almost over. Just in case I don't get back on Happy Birthday for Friday!!! Many happy returns. BTW check out Kyoto when you get the chance, it really amazes - I am so jealous. Good Luck cheek chops ; ) xxx

I knew you'd be thanking me for those thermal undies, eventually! Put reverse cycle aircons at the top of your flat hunting tick list..... obviously along with good Internet connections, reliable electricity for hair straighteners, proximity to shops, cafes and subway station etc! Have fun sweetie! Love and hugs Mum x

Hello Heidi. I've just caught up on all your current journals at once. I think you're doing brilliantly to be coping so well as you are. We're all thinking of you even though there's nothing practically that we can do. You will have lots of interesting stories to tell in the months to come. Make the most of your days as a tourist. How many words of Japanese do you know now? Keep in touch. Love Sharon

I hope you've managed to get a little sleep by now. How long before you actually start real work? I'd love to visit Japan one day, but would definitely need someone else to keep me company. We had a lovely 12 days in Italy - a mixture of serious sightseeing and lazing around. It's really good to be able to keep track of all your adventures. Look forward to the next installment. Love Sharon

Hello Heidi - From: ... to the land of FAR beyond!
The weather is not so different here! I blame you. I bet you've been singing to that river again! Thanks for the pictures - it looks lovely there, but you must stick out for what YOU want. Just think of the positives - you can cheer GB on in Osaka at a civilised time!!! Love and a big hug - Lesley xx

Glad that things are looking a bit brighter today - you're sense of humour certainly seems to have resurfaced promptly. If you're the sort of person who likes to hug a tree, you'll be spoilt for choice! Pasta with ketchup sounds like a culinary experience not to be repeated quickly. Keep smiling, love Jan P

S“kao Heidi - are you impressed! I must admit I had my assistant Katie copy and paste it! It's hello by the way! Well how does it compare to Dol-y-Moch? There seems to be a few more shrines than in deepest Wales! Check out the loos though! I hope you have a great time Heidi - keep me posted. The furthest I'll be going this summer is the Lake District for a few days in the bank holiday week. Looking forward to it though. Looking forward to hearing from you. Love Lesle xx

Hello - From: let's go and explore...
Hi Heidi It's lovely to hear about your adventures - I'm really proud of you [ though it's nothing to do with me really!]. I'm just back from canada and Alaska. I couldn't have gone on my own and they speak English! I was like an excitable Julio when I saw the grizzly bears and whales!! Isn't it funny how Starbucks pop up everywhere? So pleased you are living your dream! Oh to be young. Keep us all posted. Love Eleri

Go to sleep child!! We're so proud of you and fascinated by your adventures so far. We were just thinking and talking about you when we got your text and have really enjoyed reading your blog - and looking at all the photos - though we didn't really need to see the one of the toilet (oh...apparently we did according to Mum). You'll be pleased to know you haven't missed one of Dad's fab BBQs - it's been pouring down all day! Mum's dinner was quite good though. We're looking forward to your first impressions of Miyazaki - bet it's gorgeous! Think happy thoughts. Sweet dreams sweetiepie! Lots of love, Mum, Dad, Chris and Kerry xx

Seeing Lyn Bone and family tonight for a meal so I'd better go and prepare something! Love Lizzy
