Tissue moment... I was feeling that amazing experience and God moment with you as I was reading it. Obviously I have a personal connection to it... Still needed a tissue after. Sounds like a profound experience- I will be there in the near future :) P.S. Can't wait to see you in a few weeks...
Thank you. Hi Pat, thank you so much for all that you are doing to help women come together to talk and collaborate to rise up. When you help a woman, you are helping men and children too. An educated woman is better prepared to contribute to the economy, build a healthy family, and creates a safe community and best of all, she helps in creating more leaders. Thank you for sharing your love, for being so generous and for always taking ACTION. You and your work are inspiring me to take action.
Women power! Angelica - thank you for you kind note. Alone, life can be hard. Together - we are stronger! and we really are more alike than different........
Fun with Pat What a wonderful trip! I'm so proud of all of your accomplishments and it's so much fun to actually feel like I'm right beside you. Keep the stories and photo's coming. They are very inspirational. love Kate
So happy to follow your journey! I'm so proud of you Pat! You continue to inspire us all. Be safe and may you and your teammates be blessed with strength and determination to help all of these wonderful people in all the ways that you can. Great photos : )
Thank you, Annette! Annette- I am so happy that you are following this journey - it is so humbling to be here, and to be able to contribute and make a difference in the lives of these people - and I mean a REAL, long-term, committed difference. So powerful. Great perspective. My heart is full.
It's all about the ask Pat, I love your photos! And I was struck by your story of the boy who boldly stood and asked "what can you do for us?" Talk about intentions! Talk about seeing opportunity all around you! Talk about putting it out there! And then the joy of receiving... Such a great business lesson and life lesson too. Tell everybody 'hello' and let Liz Bull know that i had a drink in her honor on her birthday! Safe travels!
Opportunities ARE everywhere...... Hi Ann, so glad you are following the journey, It is such a humbling experience and a blessing to be here. That young boy in the classroom is now sponsored for the rest of his schooling by one of my SURGE colleagues, Melissa Lantz. Powerful moment! I will pass on your message to Liz.
House Building Day Thank you Pat for taking the time to make this interesting to us travelling along with you....in our minds only! You make such a lot of hard work sound so rewarding and knowing you, this experience made a large impact on you. We look forward to hearing and seeing more!
World Tour people ......unite ..... Jan, I am so glad you are here (as are many others from our World tour days) - so fun! I was thinking of Keith yesterday as we were building, and our 'master builder' kept coming along to fix the way I spread the mortar, or to chop the cinder blocks into smaller sizes, etc. - it was quite the experience and I'm so happy I'm able to share this with so many people by way of this blog! More to come.....

One should travel to appreciate what we have here I am grateful for having fresh water and hot water when I want them
I was humbled by my trip to Africa for sure
Can't see the cost of the house
Humbling ...... Hey Rose Mary - yes, it was quite the humbling day. Exhausting in so many ways - right down to the ankles and deep into the heart! Thanks for your comment - great to have you follow along.
Gratitude, for sure Hey Marg - I was thinking of you as I saw the sign for the House for Sale - will keep the photo on my phone and show you when I get home (we can enlarge it) - and yes, there are constant reminders here about how blessed our lives are.
Humbled Pat, your account has humbled and inspired me. I sat here reading with tears running down my cheeks -- tears for the wonderful humanitarian work you are doing, and tears for the joy you are bringing the families. Bless you and the others. Cannot wait to read all your blogs & see more pictures.
So proud of you Pat You and the team are such an inspiration to me, and I'm sure many. It is so sad to see the conditions that these beautiful people live in. And your right Pat, the homes your building are like mansions for them. Blessings and Love from Canada!
Lusaka ... Hi Pat ... what another wonderful journey you are on. I was in Lusaka a few years ago with a micro finance organization. Although the people were poor, if found them very generous and entrepreunial. What a wonderful contribution you are making to help change the lives of others! Enjoy your travels and look forward to maybe catching up when you are back in London. Doreen
Travelling the world ..... Hey Sharon, you are so right - so many great memories, especially of our world tour trips to Africa. This one is very special to me, though - watch for the latest blog post to come out (I'm just writing it now). Thanks for being here.
Thanks for the Travel Blog I've never been to Africa and in truth wasn't sure I ever would but the glimpse of Johannesburg you have provided so far has me rethinking that. Looking forward, with anticipation, to hearing more about your journey, this event, and the wonderful women you will be meeting.
Welcome to my travel blog! I'm about to head off on another adventure.
Many of you, on this list, signed up when I was blogging for the World Tour for Travel Guild - this trip is not associated with that group - it is a totally different adventure. So, if you choose NOT to follow, just click 'unsubscribe' and you will no longer hear from me!
If, on the other hand, you do want to follow - I'm excited.
We're going to be travelling to Zambia, Zimbabwe and I will be speaking in Johannesburg on International Women's Day - and I have the honor of blogging the trip for YOU! I'll be writing... full info
