Welcome to our travelblog site. Over the next 12 months keep up to date with all our adventures as we try to make it around the world. Starting off by flying to Delhi on the 14th September 2006, we are hoping to make it through as many places as our money will take us.

It's been a while coming, but with after graduating from Uni and decided enough was enough at work, we headed to the travel agents to buy these tickets. An easy decision really and realising that we might just have the money to do this, or at least get us half way, we finally paid up and there was no turning back.

As I write this we are two days away from setting off, struggling to pack but with the first 3 nights accomodation booked we almost taste/smell our first stop. So I guess it's bye for now!

WE have been here for just over a week now and it has been so so brilliant! The weather is beautiful, the sea is turquoise, the sand is white and we have met some great people at the place we are staying = Rarotonga Backpackers! Hopefully you will like the photos we have taken to try and give you an idea of the beauty here. Really sad to be leaving tonight at midnight - catching a plane to LA, should take 9 hours or so. We are going to stay there for 2 nights, then fly to Las Vegas, have our go at gambling in the Casinos here and there, then fly back to LA and finally, fly back to London! We have been staying at a place called Rarotonga Backpackers, which has been great. Earlier ... read more

It's a hard life in Fiji.

Fiji....... It's hot. The people are extremely friendly. The beaches are beautiful. The water is crystal clear. It's pretty amazing!! We've been here and ten days so far and we been on the move a bit. After a night in Nadi we got away from the town as quickly as possible. It's not the best of places. There's nothing to see and the town is hectic with lots of people trying their best to get us to part with our ever decreasing pot of money. Plus, the beach is, for want of a better word, shite. So we headed off to first island. Mana - part of the Mamanucas, the closest group of islands on the west coast of the mainland. Most of them are home to the ludicrously priced 'honeymoon' resorts. However, Mana is one ... read more

HEY everyone, sorry its been a while!! You probably heard about the travelblog problemo though? Well, heres lots and lots of photos of the North Island - just thought we'd get up to date before we fly to . . .. . FIJI TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CAMPERVAN Oh Yes, We've gone and got ourselves another smelly campervan. Have to say, bigger and better than the last one, but the bed seems to be a collection of 0.5cm thick panels of MDF that you lay across the van to kind of create the illusion of a double bed. Go to sleep on it, big mistake, as one can gurantee that you will be woken due to the panels caving/slipping and falling beneath you. We both feel a weee bit deprived of sleep at this current moment in time, but ... read more

As you all probably noticed, there was some pretty big problems with travelblog over the last few weeks. We had added several new blogs and the following day logged on to check them and the site wouldn't load. A few days later we found out that the new ones had been lost, along with another 25! Nearly all of our Australia and NZ so far. It's fair to see the mood wasn't too chirpy that day! Anyway, since then most of them seem to have reappeared, a few still nowhere to be seen and some with missing text. It turned out some virus or something got into the database and the last 6 month of peoples blog had been deleted. Luckily it's nearly all back to normal so that's good. Anyway, because of that there's a ... read more

We arrived in Franz Josef quite late that afternoon at the little 'Glow Worms' Hostel that we were staying at for a few nights - it was great there and we got upgraded to the best room ever and well, for us, it was luxury. Chris persuaded me to go for a late night walk into the forest to look at the glow worms, but when we arrived at the spot, I was far too scared, as once the lights from the car were turned off, all around us was darker than dark and even though we had those silly wind up torches the hostel had lent us before we headed off, . . . . .nope, just not enough light for me to be on our own, in the middle of nowhere, pitch black, funny ... read more

Queenstown - the land of extreme sports. The birth place of the commercial bungee jump - just one of the mad things available to try and scare the crap out of yourself! Also a lively place to spend the evening with plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants. But at this time of year it's perfect for a spot of snowboarding/skiing with two big ski areas within 20 minutes of the town. We managed to find a great deal, it included 3 days (22nd - 25th) skiing & lift passes & equipment, well everything we needed basically plus lots of extra freebies AND our accomodation for 2 nights. Sorted. The price for a whole days skiing and equipment hire was less than one bungee jump! We made the most of each and every day, arriving each day ... read more

Well, it just feels like we are in a magical land of some kind. Everything sparkles and glistens, all trees and roof tops are sprinkled with snow, lots of sheep about, cold, but the sun is always shining. The cobwebs freeze over with frost and snow flakes making them look like sparkling diamante, candy floss which reflects the beautiful sunlight from the bright sun in the big blue sky - a hint of the perfect weather we have been having to view the amazing scenery here in New Zealand. Yesterday, we went to Milford Sound. It was a very long drive for Chris, he did very well with all the ice and snow we saw everywhere. We arrived there after a 3 hour drive from Te Anau (where we have been staying for the last ... read more

After the All Blacks game our time in Christchurch was at an end - time to hit the road! With the help of our very friendly host in our Christchurch hostel we've conjured up a plan for the next few weeks. Taking us around as many of the highlights of the South Island as is possibly in the little time that we have. So here goes a little on what we've seen so far... GERALDINE I small town in the hills, we didn't do anything here other than pull up beside a pub with a sign advertising their "Sunday Roasts". Well it's been a such a long time since we last had one we couldn't refuse. We stepped inside and it was like stepping into a time warp. An quiet English looking pub, with an ... read more

The time came for us to leave Australia. We really had settled in well and were sad to be going. Even the weather tried it's best to stop us going, heavy rain and thunderstorms made for a slight delay on the flight to Christchurch. But without to much delay we were off and looking down on a miserable looking Sydney as we took off into the skies. Things quickly improved luckily and we were soon in perfectly clear weather as we headed over to New Zealand. For the first time since home we left we were lucky enough to find ourselves on a flight that didn't go at some ridiculous hour. Flying in daylight meant that we had the most amazing views coming into New Zealand as we flew over the snow covered Southern Alps ... read more

Yeah, so for Chris's birthday, I bought him a Sydney Harbour Bridge climb, which we did on his birthday at twilight, so we could see the sun set from the top of the harbour bridge, watch the whole of sydney gradually light up like it was decorated with fairy lights and the stars slowly come out and the opera house slowly light up. Oh yeah, and fire works that were going off at an international rugby match - it was all quite a sight to see from the top of the harbour bridge. Amazing, actually. It was pretty nippy once we at the top - they made us all wear those mechanic suit things, and harnesses with parachutes, fleeces, radios, headphones, speakers, all attached to us somehow - added up, it does all way u ... read more
