Hello everyone. I'm in Melaka, Malaysia. I checked out some of the museums here and am enjoying the weekend festival they are having here. I'm going to spend a few days here before heading back to KL for the start of my journey back to Boise. Melaka is a small port city in the south. There are quite a bit of tourists from Singapore here. I guess people from Singapore get the month of June off or something. The festival is packed with street vendors and tons of people. Made it to Tanah Rata, which is a beatiful town in central Malaysia. It's fresh air, cooler climate and a nice backpaking haven. I'll make sure to get some good pictures for all of you. I may have found my second home. I am now on the island of Ko Lanta, a small island south of Krabi.We will be staying here for at least three nights. The sunset tonight was fantastic. It was slightly overcast but the sun fell right over Ko Phi Phi. Thomas, Corey and I are getting along quite well and we may be traveling together as far as Kalua Lampur. A lot has happend since I last wrote. Yes, it was a crazy trip to Ko Samui. It was also pretty crazy in Ko Samui. Terry and I stayed on the island for six night. Two on the more popular Chaweng beach and four on the more laid back Hat Lamai. We got primative on at the "Amadeus" bungalows. We ended up doing our laundry in the sink of our room, and drying our clothes outside. The days at Ko Samui resembled some summers I had in Cd'A where all I would do nothing but swim and sit in the sun. [View Full Entry]

Well, I'm not in Chiang Mai anymore. My room-mate Terry and I left for the South shortly after my arrival to Chiang Mai. I know it sounds a little bazaar, but it was necessary. The journey goes a little like this... We wake up around 5:45 and take a tuk-tuk (small open air taxi) to the train station; we have coffe and discuss our plans. The train was leaving late, so we ended up on a bus to Bangkok. Oh, Bangkok! It was nicer than the buses in the states: A/C. stewardess, bathroom (squatter though). So I hope you can all forgive my spelling and grammar throughout this blog. After a nastygram from my room-mate who's Chang Mai, I had to head up here. I took a nice little fight (70 minutes) and then walked to the hotel they're staying at. It's a nice place. It's great to get out of the hustle of Bangkok. The people are great, less scams, and the weather is much more pleasing to the average Idaho boy. I have'nt seen them yet but I got a room right next to theirs.
