Japan Sep 2014

I had never visited Japan prior to this trip, so was looking forward to exploring it in some detail over this two week trip. I ended up spending a week in Tokyo, four nights in Kyoto, and two nights in Hiroshima. I found many things that interested me over that two week stretch, please read on if you are interested.

It all started when my plane departed SFO on Saturday 13 Sep 2014 at 11:15am PT, and then 10 flight hours later when I landed at Narita around 2:15pm 14 Sep 2014. On the way back, my plane departed Narita at 4pm on Sunday 28 Sep 2014, and a little over 9 flight hours later landed at SFO at 9:10am Sunday 28 Sep 2014. Funny how the international date line affects things.
