18th March 2009 - CANYON SWING - AWESOME!!! We arrived in Queenstown at around 10.30am and rode our bicycles straight to the hostel. We were booked in the Flaming Kiwi Backpackers. 17th March 2009 - KAYAK TOUR & THE LITTLE GREEN MEN!!! For the first time in ages I was actually woken up by my alarm. 5.45am though so not a normal get up time!! The bus was picking us up at 7am….far too early to function but no choice in the matter. I got up and walked around like a zombie somehow managing to get myself dressed and ready for the day. 16th March 2009 - A 20 MILE WALK..........WILL MY LEGS EVER FORGIVE ME?!!! I woke at around 3am and that was me for the day. The girl in the bed below me kept shaking the bed as she moved around a lot in her sleep. I could normally sleep anywhere and won’t wake up but not on this trip it seems….I was wide awake from that point on and had no luck when trying to get back to sleep. 15th March 2009 - MILFORD SOUND CRUISE & OAP BUS - AWESOME DAY!! I felt a little better when I woke this morning. I think sleep had been the cure though the bags under my eyes are starting to take over my face! This wouldn’t happen if I was a celebrity….get me some botox!! WHERE HAS ALL MY MONEY GONE?!! I had an awful nights sleep...kept waking up, going hot and cold, headaches and generally not feeling well at all!! I got up at around 7am after being wide awake for 2 hours. I went to sit in the kitchen and had some breakfast and a brew in the hope it would make me feel a little better!! It didn't! 12th March 2009 - SURVIVING MANEATER ON A RIVER SLEDGE & A CINEMA WITH A DIFFERENCE!! Up early again and straight for breakfast as usual. 10th March 2009 - PUZZLING WORLD & MOUNT IRON!!! I woke up early but had slept well during the night which made a change. After laying wide awake in bed for an hour I got up and took myself for breakfast. Still the best meal of the day! 8th March 2009 - ONWARDS TO HAAST - MORE RAIN & QUIET TIME!!! The Atomic bus arrived at 10.50am...bang on time! We loaded on our bikes and jumped on the bus ready to make the journey to Haast. After around 1 hours travelling we made a stop at a salmon farm. Basically a few pools with salmon in and a gift shop and cafe. 6th March 2009 - A DAY INDOORS!!! Woke up to the sound of rain hammering it down...I thought I was back home for a second until I realised that I was sharing my room with strangers and there were no home comforts. Can't quite get used to that! Our shuttle bus to take us to Fox Glacier (30 minutes away) was picking us up at 10am and so we spent the morning just lazing about, getting ready and having breakfast. 5th March 2009 - ICE ICE BABY!!!! Woke up at around 6am very excited. I managed to contain myself and stay in bed until 6.30 but then I got up showered and ready for an icy adventure. We set off to the Glacier tour shop at around 8am with our packed lunch in hand and a couple of spare layers in case it got icy cold!
