Foley! I love these updates!! They are fantastic and I can't wait to travel to some of them in the near future!! Tuscany and an Italian Cooking Class has been one of my dream vacations for a few years now. Great visual and word pictures. I feel like I'm right there with you. Can't wait to see you when you come back to the States.
francaise hey christy
great to hear that you are doing so well and having fun...when do you come home...looks like treva and i are headed for france and italy end of august..love the blogs....be safe...xoxoxo htn
WOW! NICE! Wimbledon. Looks like a lot of fun. You loook great too:) That "dog toilet" is hilarious! All dog owners can laugh at that one. I swear, they need those all over NYC!!
AHHHHHHHH CHRISTY!!! It has been fabulous to read of your travels. My husband Patrick and I and some friends did an Italy trip 3 years ago together. It was awesome! I have enjoyed all your adventures, but, when it came to the Cinque-Terre, well that just did me in!! It was my choice for a place to go and see on our trip. We each picked a place and that was mine! To see your beautiful photos was to relive it all again!! Thank you! Hope to see you in S.F. in the near future when you return! Hey, you are looking even more beautiful than what I remember, Italy must agree with you! Enjoy and live life to the MAX!!! Love, Patricia
Wow!!! It's been so wonderful of you to share your trip with us. You definitely should be a travel journalist. The gardens were fabulous. The coleus which I love and I even got to grown in the desert. The hydrangea and calla lilies have always been my favorite. Love gardening and it has to be genetic from Nana. Living in the desert is a little prohibitive for growing my favorites. Don't complain about the heat--it was 115 degrees here in La Quinta and it suppose to continue. Long hot summer. Love you and it has been so much fun traveling with you.
Buon Giorno! Your entry just brought back so many great memories. I love reading your stories and am very envious of your journey. Savor every minute of it.
Great travel stories We have really enjoyed your adventures in Europe. You may have found a new calling as a travel writer, guide and/or photographer. Thanks for sharing your memories of 22 North and our gardens. We visited Bellagio in 2003 and Villa Carlotta and your photos captured it well, especially the lovely Hydrangias. Watch out for the crazy soccer fans in France on Sunday. We are in Sun Valley now and would love to see you here oin your return to SF....all our love...Priscilla and Ranney
Ciao Bella, you tug at my heart... I can hear the waves lapping and taste the sweet lemon drinks...smell the the pesto and want you to know that you are once again, blowing me away. I lived in Monterosso and Como and got hooked on gardens and slow pace... and I am so happy you are diggin' it. What a trip and may you continue to fill your days and evenings with more and more adventures of the good kind. Have you checked in with your Quadrinity to find out how it's going inside? California is generally hot everywhere. The Giants are playing the Dodgers (and trying not to lose) and the headlines in the newspaper have to do with hundreds of frogs species that are now extinct thanks to global warming. A slow news day, except for a plot to blow up New York's trains that was foiled. Aren't you glad you only need to figure out train schedules and how much a Pound really is or a Euro isn't. Keep on writing and photographing!
Love and Light, Buzzy.
It's like a fantasy land! Wow what an amazing town. It's like a miny version of Portofino--another beautiful place you should visit if you run out of places to go! Keep having fun, we are enjoying following you around the world. Much love!
I feel like I am home...sort of I was just thinking then when I go to work tonight at "Bellagio" it wont be near as prettty as the pictures here. I am adding a new heading on my LIFE TO DO LIST. Take a 4 month expedition like my friend Christy :)
hi we were in como about 3 years ago in June and it was SO bloody hot and humid that it made the area a bit less enjoyable. I actually preferred Lake Garda. Sorry to hear that you didn't get to Venice....my new fave spot but we were SO lucky with the weather where it was optimal and you are learning that the weather can make or break a place! Especially when a/c is non-existant and smelly europeans crowd every tourist spot!
Christy--I'm loving your blogs and especially enjoying pictures of you looking happy and beautiful! Don't know what you plan on doing in the South of France, but I have two memorable destinations. Avingnon, which is in the Rhone Valley. If you go here, make sure to go wine tasting in the Rhone Valley (Chateauneuf du Pape wine is from here). If you're heading further south to the riviera, skip Nice and Canne and go STRAIGHT to Cap D'ail, just a walk from Monaco. The beach there is amazing!
Your cooking pals We are loving your travel blog and thank you for adding our picture at Badia a Coltibuono to it. I tried making "schiaciatta" right after the class and instead of coming out "flat" it came out kind of unevenly fluffy. "Whoops!" My second try last week was a suucess.
Mica and I were in Cinque Terre when Italy beat Australia in the World Cup. What chaos and what fun. It looks like you are having a great time. We sent your blog to our friends back in New York, so you have a lot of fans out there.
Continue to have a great time. All the best, Richard and Mica
Christy, It has been great keeping up on your travels, we should be back in Germany by July 20, give us a call and come see us if you are still around. Keep having a great time. Hope to see you soon. Kristin
Glad you enjoyed it! Sounds like you are having a great time...since you just went to Florence I thought I would pass along my experience there...let's see, a pepperdine guy we were partying with pukes on a bouncer's shoes and we all get kicked out of the bar...this guy and schimmer decide to trash a construction area outside the bar, cops come and arrest them, nigro and I come to their "rescue" and get slammed up against the cop cars and get arrested too...spend a night in a florence jail cell. to top it all off, we go to the Duomo the next day and I have to run outside where I projectile puke on the steps leading up to it...oh yeah, there were probably 300 people (mostly kids) in the quad watching it happen. boy I hated Florence...glad you liked it. Keep the updates coming.
Thanks for the great travel blog. Love the photos and your special travel stories. You've helped to motivate me to finally plan a trip back to Europe this September. It has obviously been too long.
garga hey dude...if you are still in firenze...go to dinner at the restaurant called garga...unreal...you will never have food like that in your life....enjoy your journal...what an unreal trip...stay in touch....harold
Awesome Your photos are amazing Christy, you have quite an eye. Hey, I'm going to greece next week (mainland, Mykonos, Naxos, and Santorini), great to see that you loved the islands, I'm psyched to be going. Any advice would be appreciated.
How great is Italy! You have seen so much of Italy-I am so jealous! It is so great the way you are making new friends and really enjoying everything you can. We had dinner with (your brother) Kevin and Christa last night and talked about all the amazing places you are seeing. Keep having fun!

The journey continues . . . As many of you have predicted and requested, the traveling and the travel blog continues. I'm heading back to London with a three month ticket. I have no plans yet, just a bunch of ideas, but I'm looking forward to seeing where I end up and enjoying my last hoorah before going back to a mortgage paying US Citizen again.
May 2006
My new journey in life begins with a four month trip through Europe, through August 31st. I have rented my home in San Francisco for 1 year, so who knows, this journal may continue past August! Stay tuned and enjoy!... full info
