So Lima is the capital of Peru, and has around 10 million people. Despite this, the only form of public transportation is bus or taxi. A subway is on the horizon for 2021 but you can imagine the traffic issues they have. The roads are average in places and cars often drive on the wrong side of the road, forming their own lanes or trying to make up time in the traffic. Pedestrians do get walk signs however some drivers ignore them which makes crossing the road interesting! I'm staying in Miraflores, one of the safest districts which is 3 districts away from lima district where the old town and many attractions are. A few people have commented that the blog is blank. Well yeah, I hadn't left! So here's a short post to tide you over. No idea about the availability of WiFi in Peru so it could be a while! If you've met me you'll know I'm not a morning person. Today my alarm was set for 4am but of course I woke at 3.30. This is after I stayed up 'late' to watch Survivor. No spoilers while I'm away please! Anyway I'm flying with Qantas, as I've saved up like 5 years of frequent flyer points for this.
