Hi Pam yes you need a visa.
id recommend you get them in bangkok when you arrive to save hassle further down the road. You will love asia....its amazing!!!!
Hello 'eh! from Canada... Hey Chris, I'm planning a trip on the same route as you are now taking. I leave in Jan. '07. So I've been reading up on the info by following blogs such as yours and I'm totally stoked!! Can't wait. Your entries here are a real hoot. Keep 'em up!! Hey, did you need a Visa for Laos?
Craziest Driving in the world Every word you said is true. I think their are some traffic lights, but no one use's them. The sidewalks are filled with parked bikes and stores so you kinda have to walk on the street. We saw this stage show in a big traffic square and there must have been 1000 bikes stopped to watch. Buses were honking non stop and finally had to make a 10 point turn and go the opposite way. I got used to it after a few days but it was still scary as shit crossing the street. Hue, Hoi An, and Na Trang aren't nearly as crazy but I haven't seen Saigon, untill tommorrow... Dan
Hi Chris Hi Chris, glad you survived all the mopeds, now you know how we felt when you had one! Sounds like you are having a great time. I enjoyed reading the bike ride and the children hitching a lift on the back. You never changed, remember you squirted the postman and made off on the bike.
Lots of Love Mam
your hut looks awesome... Hello! I'm going to Pai in a few weeks, and looking up accommodation options....your hut looks AWESOME! What is it called? Maybe it's in my guidebook... I love the solitude and scenery. Ok, honest....did you get lots of creepy-crawlie things in your hut at night? Yikes. Gotta ask, though....Vanuatu and Fiji just did me in with the spiders at night!!!
Thanks much!

Cork girls Hey man- all looks to be going well- Liz and Eilish are looking for your email to catch up- forward it to gav003@gmail.com if you want me to pass it on.
A massage sounds like a good start to a good night! Dam, wished I stayed out that night, Ryan said it turned out pretty good. I was just a little too hungover from your birthday the night before. Chaing Mai was amazing, Lao is just as amazing in its own way. Were at the Merry 1 Guest house in Luang Prabang, 5 minutes from the boat launch, right next to the river, not Mekong, same/same, but different, in the old part of town.
Cheers,
Dan and Ryan
