This was my first trip out of Europe and it was a special one, I had decided to take my girlfriend away to celebrate our one year anniversary in the Caribbean sun in Cuba, not only would we get to celebrate our one year anniversary it was also going to be valentine’s day whilst we were there, yes I am a romantic. We woke at 5am up to leave for the airport and it was rammed because of the school holidays, when we boarded the plane we were delayed by an hour in a queue waiting to take off, so that’s 11 hours spent on the plane in total. When we landed, on the way to our coach a guy came over to help me with my bags, the staff at Virgin are helpful I thought, ... read more

Where does every Brit go when they want sun & a cheap holiday? Tenerife! Nikki & I had been dating for about seven months at the time so decided we should go away on our first holiday together. We had been to Rome for a weekend but we wanted to go somewhere for two whole weeks of sun, relaxation, sun, nice food, sun & most importantly FUN....oh did I mention sun? lol. One of the things I love most about Nikki is that she’s different from most other women when it comes to money, most women I know/have met aren’t always “good” with money (could just be the women I know lol) but Nikki is always looking for the best deal or wanting to barter with people, I am the opposite, if I find something I ... read more

My girlfriend had just finished her final exams at Uni so as a treat for the amount of hours she had put in to studying (it seemed like an eternity) I decided to take her to Rome for a long weekend. The biggest problem in taking her away after her last exam is where I was going to have to take her if she passed (which she did, luckily she was happy with a romantic meal lol). When we arrived the sun was shining and we were both looking forward to some fine Italian cuisine and to see the sights that Rome had to offer, as my friends will know I love food, when I’m at home I try to eat healthily but when I’m on a holiday, albeit a very short holiday, I like to ... read more

My trip to Dublin was quite some time ago now but I’m going to write about the bits I remember (the funny highlights), three of us went out to Dublin but only two returned, a lot of alcohol was drunk and a lot of funny times were had by all, this is what I remember of the carnage that was St Patricks day 2005. We had an early flight and by the time we landed and got to the hotel it was about 8am, when we looked out of our window you could actually see the parade that’s how central our hotel was, the parade wasn’t starting for a few hours so we went to a local cafe and had a fry up and a pint of Guinness, well I had a Guinness and blackcurrant as ... read more

Ibiza is THE clubbing capital of Europe, it is a small Balearic Island just off the coast of Spain and during the summer it literally never sleeps. There are clubs all over the island with most concentrated around San Antonio, we stayed at the Jet Apartments in Playa Den Bossa our room looked over on to Bora Bora beach a beach that is known for its all day parties. When we arrived my friend Freddy AKA “Freddy one beer” and I went to a local bar, it was at this bar that I was first introduced to Tequila in a new way, instead of salt & lemon I had it with Cinnamon and orange, it was beautiful. Then the plan was to go to Pacha night club, at least that was the plan, however Freddy had ... read more

I am going to apologise in advance for this blog, I cannot remember much of my time in Kos but wanted to share my pictures with people/friends so please excuse my blog (or lack of a blog) & I hope you enjoy what I do remember & the few pictures I have that bring back so many memories. When I was 21 I had planned with my friend Peter to take a year (or two) out to travel however a job opportunity came up that I could not ignore & I was unable to travel, sadly my friend Peter did not go travelling either but he did spend a summer season in a part of Kos called Kardamena, which we had both spoke about doing to start our travels. Whilst he was there my friend Michael ... read more

It was my 21st birthday and I wanted to celebrate, I had heard about Prague and the cheap alcohol and good night life and thought “Why not”, I knew it would be cold when we were going but had no idea how cold, on average it was around minus 30C every day, MINUS 30C! That is beyond cold. When we landed a guy asked us if we wanted a taxi, he seemed nice enough (‘seemed’ being the key word) so we got into his cab, on the way to his taxi we were talking and he was joking around with us, once we were all in he said “You are nice guys I will not put the meter on and only charge you 450 Koruny (around £15) to your hotel” what a nice guy that works ... read more

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to try everything life has to offer, I have done a bungee jump (read my Rhodes blog), sky dived (read my 'Skydive to raise money for charity in 1999....when I was 16 years old!' blog), scad dived (a free fall of 150 feet in to a net, I did this at the end of a pier in Blackpool, England), sky surfed (read my Rhodes blog) now to conquer the sky completely I needed to wing walk (if there is anything I haven't listed please let me know I WANT TO DO IT! lol). It wasn’t as straight forward as book your appointment, pay your money, do it, I had to pay for a year’s membership to an aviation club and then pay for the wing walk ... read more

There is a lot of history in Rhodes and during my time there I didn't see any of it, I was 19 when I went to Rhodes and I saw one part, the bars and clubs of Faliraki. We stayed with a tour operator called Club 18-30 who specialise in clubbing holidays for that age group, shortly after we had booked to go to Faliraki a TV programme started called Club Reps, it was basically about the night life in Faliraki and the reps that worked for Club 18-30. All of my friends and myself watched it and could not wait to go, we were all single and thought it would be great to go somewhere full of alcohol, late night clubs, sun, sea & of course lots of siestas ;-) But it would appear that ... read more

At 16 you haven't really done anything in life but I knew I wanted to do a skydive from a very young age, the youngest legal age to skydive in the UK is 16 so I thought what better way to celebrate then to skydive, I looked into how to book a skydive and found that I could raise money for the National Deaf Children's Society at the same time. Sponsorship raised, date of the jump booked and I got up early to go to Headcorn, I chose the wrong time of year to do it, it was October when I eventually got around to booking it and when I got there I waited for a few hours only to be told the weather was too bad and we wouldn't be able to jump today. I ... read more
