I donīt have long, but just a quick message for the family and such. Prague was amazing, such a beautiful city where everything is so ridiculously cheap.. we had the best apartment room for such a cheap price. Best bits: Old Town National Gallery Charles Bridge Buda and pest was everything and more.. the festival we went to "Sziget" was on a small island in the middle of the Danube river. Radiohead were perfect. Anybody seeing them at V festival, enjoy it. We met a lot of lovely people and stayed inside the castle walls! This morning we went to the [View Full Entry]

Pirates!

Europe » Austria » Vienna State » Vienna
Hello again. Thankyou for reading by the way, it is much appreciated. We left Venice early in the morning, we hopped onto the best train we have experienced so far. It was the most hogwarts express kind of train, with compartments that have chairs you can turn into beds. there were plugs to charge and the best bit of all a lovely austrian tea boy. The journey was also the best we have had, we travelled through the alps so we saw our first snow capped mountains! Even though Austria is small it barely has anyone living in it by the [View Full Entry]

The Coffin
The Coffin
Me and Laura have named the tent the coffin because it pretty much feels like that when you sleep in it. This is the strange campsite with no-one around.
After the beautiful Florence we decided to head down to a coastline town (too many big amazing buildings can make your head forget what is actually amazing) We decided to camp at another Plus! camping place (like the one we stayed in, in Florence) We got up nice and early and caught a train to San Vincenzo, we managed to have our first cups of tea since England (because the weather has calmed down and it just seems right).. they were delicious. When the train hit the coastline it was just seemed like the train was travelling over the water. Almost [View Full Entry]

This is just a quick entry so i can upload some photos and keep them safe. Stuff about Florence that i missed out aswell. We walked the whole day around the town, walking along rivers has become one of our most favourite activities. We found an amazing open bar and if you bought a drink you got a free meal! A jug of sangria and some lovely mix of salad, potatos, bread, rice and vegetables. Fantastic and all for so cheap. They played Belle and Sebastian which reminded me of people from home and i wished everyone could be there. It's [View Full Entry]

this is on the way to Florence (4 hours from Rome) the seats look really nice but they were pretty uncomfortable. my digital camera is rubbish..
Arrived in Florence last night. Our camping spot is wonderful, a good bar and mini mart and it looks over the whole of city! so at night you get the best views. I was biten alive though last night, but that comes with the outside and the heat. We have tried to make more of a plan.. we have a lot of our inter-rail left and it sounds mental mental but we really wouldn't mind seeing Prague and Budapest.. plus on the 12th of August Radiohead are playing in Budapest.. but that is a bit hard to fit in.. yes we do... but the pope does not... okay this is the second time ive written this... the first was amazing... could give bill bryson a run for his money but the internet timed out... so this time may not be as good. sorry.... we started the day off checking into out second hostel in Rome, this being one of the nicer places we've stayed at, plug sockets, morror, the works. and the bill showed it, but whatever. when in Rome. There were friendly people at the desk aswell, some girl told us about the numbers she saw in her head... [View Full Entry]

Monaco Station
Monaco Station
the station was quite a stunning sight, i do like good lights.
Laura and I are still in Nice. Yesterday we travelled to Monaco and Monte Carlo. We visted the castle and saw the changing of the guard (i want to touch the cannon) and also went to a very poorly kept zoo. Colchester beats it by far but still we got to see a hippo! The train ride was absolutely beautiful along the coast, the train looks like its floating on water when you can't see over the edge! The cliffs are just amazing. We were planning on heading to Sardinia today but looking at the boat prices we are decided against [View Full Entry]

what a beautiful pink building, all the buildings here are colourful.
The sleeper train wasn't so sleepy, i was freezing through the most of it. Little Lauras feet even had the goose bumps! Nice is an exciting town with a different looking street everywhere you turn. We spent the day walking around finding our selves amongst tiny streets that tower over you in all sorts of different colours. Stunning! We decided that it would be a good idea to look at the museum of modern art, which is situated at the end of this long garden in the centre of the city. We saw Cristo (the guy that wraps things up), Warhol, [View Full Entry]

brits abroad are not abroad anymore
we got left a surprising note from the brits abroad saying they had to leave sharpish in order to get home quick enough. they wrote it on a sleeping mat!
we arrived in perpignan late last night on another train packed with backpackers. i cannot stress how much i dislike the spanish trains, there are not enough of them, they break down (like the one last night), they are just rubbish. however when they do work. its wonderful. watching the rocky mountains suddenly flourish into greenland from castellon to barcelona was just such a stunning sight. today we have planned our route for the following days and cleaned all our clothes. perpignan is a cute town with interesting shops and sites, i like it. Emily was lovely for letting us sta [View Full Entry]

BRITS ABROAD
yes this is the brits abroad crew on a misson at benicasim
All is well in the small town of benicassim. We are spending our last full day checking train times and trying to get accomodation in Croatia. The last few days have been a mixture. Me and Laura queued at the Benicassim train station for 2 hours, then to be told that all the trains were fully booked.. This town just cannot handle a festival. Luckily for us we had some nice chaps behind us over hear our woes and they took pitty on us, they had tickets that they couldnīt use on the trains because they needed to get to Barcelona [View Full Entry]
