After settling down and resting after Kathy's Birthday we headed over to bike fest in Colorado Springs on the 28th and enjoyed a day of music and walking about enjoying the bikes, people. We even managed to pick up a few things there, some new riding gloves and flip flops for Kathy. We met Jason and the family down there along with Kimberly's father and wife. We had a great time and enjoyed the kids once more. We then invited the kids over to camp for a final barbeque and fire. Well we got the barbeque in bit the fire got rained out. It was still an awesome day and we enjoyed the kids for the final time before moving on. Monday we head out to the Royal Gorge Bridge where we took nice stroll across ... read more

Wednesday the weather didn't cooperate with us. It looked a lot like rain so we decided on a trip to Cripple Creek, a town loaded with Casino's up in the mountains about 40 miles from camp. It was a fun little trip not yielding us any winnings. we lost our _ _ _ at the Brass Ass Casino. Kathy gets to see wildlife here. There was a pack of 4 wild Donkeys that she tried to coax to the truck. They were not having any part of that without food for them to eat, but it was fun watching her try. We again had a taste for pizza so we stopped in Lake George at this small Italian Café. After this pizza we will not have a taste for that for some time. Thursday we slept in ... read more

After a day and a half journey we settled into a campsite in Fountain about 10 miles south of Colorado Springs. Here we prepared our camper and stocked up on a few things before heading into the mountains. We also had a chance to take the bicycles to the Garden Of The Gods and pedal our way around the loop and enjoy the afternoon there. We then finished off the day with a visit to the kids, Jason, Kimberly, Austin and Tealyn. It was awesome to see all of them and chat a bit about their visit to 11 Mile Campground where they will come and spend two days camping with us. Saturday we made the two hour drive up into the mountains and what a drive it was. Around every corner was just another ... read more

We are here and all is well. We traveled to the Ozarks and what started out as a 5.5-6 hour trip turned over 9 hours. We hit two construction zones which were not to bad, then we hit severe weather where we were basically at 10 MPH on the highway(along with everyone else), then we hit the accident. We had lunch outside the truck standing on the Interstate for 1.5 hours. Lake Ozark and the camp ground are very nice. The weather however is not cooperating well so we are spending time at camp and just using as relaxing time. Monday we did sneak in a great bike ride which gave me the idea of renting some wave runners and cruise the lake and that is what we did. We then finished up the day going ... read more

This morning Tanya left so we decided to go over towards the North Carolina Side of the Mountain and hike Alum Cave trail which is a 1/3 moderate rating and 2/3 strenuous rating and 2.3 miles each way. It proved to be challenging but fun. It was an awesome hike through some rugged terrain and when we arrived there we enjoyed the wonderful views from up there and a little snack before heading back. On Monday the weather was a little sketchy and camp needed tidying up a bit. There was a clearing in the weather for a few hours so we took the opportunity to run the Tail of the Dragon Motorcycle Ride which consists of 318 curves in 11 miles, that was awesome, so awesome we did it twice. We then saw the storm ... read more

Well it's Thursday the 4th of June and we have a visitor coming from Wisconsin, Kathy's daughter Tanya. We are enjoying a relaxing day at the campgrounds getting a few things done while enjoying the day. The weather forecast for the weekend is hot and sunny so it should be a great visit. Tanya arrives at 5PM and we start the visit with one of our favorite dinner's Kathy's homemade chicken salad, a fire and a few laughs. Friday we decided to go up the mountain VIA horseback near Pigeon Forge, TN and enjoy some sights from a different perspective. It was a wonderful unguided ride and so peaceful it was incredible. We then ventured back to Gattlinburg, TN so she could take in the sights along the way and see the commercialized little town. One ... read more

After a day of fun in Pigeon forge we decided we would go for a hike. While in Cades cove on our bikes we found a 2.5 mile hike to Abrams Falls so we decided we would start with this hike. It was a 2.5 mile hike up and down through mud, rocks, just a wonderful array of views and sites along the way through the woods. It was a fun Hike although we did get rained on a bit but when we arrived at the falls it was a wonderful treat and well worth the trip through the woods. After the hike while exiting the park we came across our first bear who was protecting her cubs from a hungry coyote. That was fun to watch for a few minutes before heading back to camp. ... read more

We arrived in Townsend Tennessee on 28th of May and found a really cool place in the world. The area is awesome with wonderful views of water, streams, and mountainous terrain. The neighbors we meet in the campground are awesome and only live 30 miles from here. They come and enjoy all summer long and were a wealth of information and help of what sites to see and best things to do. We started out on Friday the 29th with a motorcycle ride through the mountains to Cades Cove. I have a cute picture of the first guy we meet here in the mountains below. We were pulled over for no helmets. I didn't even look because we saw people all over town not wearing helmets. Well as it turns out there was a huge motorcycle ... read more
