So, we thought the Brazilian side of the falls were amazing, but we were blown away by the Argentinian side (literally, so much spray!). The falls were bigger, more impressive and we got way too snap happy! (although we waited about 15 minutes for one little lady to move out the way and she wouldnt!) We spent the day wandering the park, checking out all the viewpoints, getting a little train, sunbathing and playing with coates (like racoons, cute but very long snouts!). It was a lovely day, ending in an early night as we were checking out the following morning. The next day we sunbathed by the pool most of the day before heading to the bus station, we crossed the border easily but it then took us a while to get picked up by ... read more

Since our first night with Juan was so much fun, we decided to head out with him again, as well as Raphael the receptionist and the man from the bottom bunk (we never got his name). They took us to a traditional Brazilian bar where we tried to dance to Salsa music (as Juan put it, Lily was a natural with her hips, Amelia was more like a frog... so charming!) After Rapha had to get back so we trusted Juan to pick a good club... not sure whether he was trying to tell us something, or whether his lack of English led him to believe this is what we were asking for, but we ended up in a gay club. Now those of you who know us well, will know seeing men kissing men while ... read more

So.... our Whitsundays trip was pretty amazing! We began with a briefing from our host/cook/entertainer Dave (picture long blonde dreads, 25 with a ridicuously loud voice but a little girls body) who began by telling us, how ever much alcohol we had, it wasnt enough so we went off to buy more goon (cheap, rank wine) and some sea sickness tablets for Amelia, the most motionsick girl ever. We boarded the boat and met our other crew member Ash (dark hair, 33, acted about 5 and secretly married) who also owned the boat. We put our things away and began sunbathing and drinking... We spent all day sailing, we were the only two to help with the sails and steering the boat, and spent most of our time with the crew. Dave cooked a lovely dinner ... read more

So last time we wrote we were off to meet Dominik at the lagoon... we actually bumped into him on the street which was handy and headed there together, it was a lovely hot day and the water was refreshing, after a catch up we left him to visit the museum (thought we might as well do something that was free and cultural) and headed back for a night in. We had to get the bus in the morning, and when we woke up all our room mates had checked out... and taken our ipod wall charger and lead (which charged everything we had) as well as our moisturiser... we started off the day in a very bad mood! We headed up to Noosa which had a nice beach (a bit of a walk away) but ... read more

Asia was beautiful, but all in all, nothing on our trip can really compare to the views on the Great Ocean Road... After we finished writing our last blog entry we headed back to our hostel for cheap pizza and beer, and played a little table tennis (got told we were pros, didnt mention having a table at home!) and thought we should have a fairly early night seeing as we had to get up early for the great ocean road tour. However having had a few drinks we were still pretty awake and played some music and room volleyball with our two canadian roomates for quite some time. There were 6 beds in our room but only four of us, so when we eventually got to bed Amelia had the genius idea of taking the ... read more

So its been quite a while since we've wrote and we've been very busy! Our train journey down to Da Nang was long, cold and not very comfy at all but as soon as we were there we made it easily to nearby Hoi An (although our taxi driver stopped at marble mountains on the way and we refused to get out the car) and found a cheap little hostel for 8 us dollars a room... however we were out on the roof in a little shack and the bathroom was 6 floors down, not great when you wake up needing the loo in the middle of the night! We wandered the old town, which is all lit up at night, with music playing and little shops and resturants all along the river and had dresses ... read more

So last time we wrote, we were off tubing... it pretty much went downhill from there! We left Loang Probang to head to Vang Vieng (the tubing capital) and our group (of 8) was split up amoungst 4 horrible minibuses with no space and no air con, so on arrival we were not a happy bunch! Despite the fact that the two Germans in our group (Dominique & Stefan) always knew excactly where to go, we were forced to follow Will the Kiwi on a 30 minute march around the town (over various dodgy bridges) in search for the perfect place he had heard about.... we never found it and ended up letting the Germans pick a lovely little remote place where we stayed in bungalow like buildings in the middle of lots of gardens, very ... read more

February 10th 2012

Hello! We have now arrived in Laos after a eventful few weeks... After Krabbi we first headed for Phi Phi which is a very cool, small island, there was so much going on all the time, and plenty of partying on the beach! We only stayed two nights before setting off for Phuket, which has the most perfect beaches as well as a long street of busy bars and clubs for the evening, we stayed in a pretty nice room, or so we thought until we saw the biggest spider either of us have ever seen, and screamed and screamed so loud (at 3am) that next door came running worried we were being attacked, which was quite embarassing! Scarier though was when Lily was grabbed by a man with no legs who then miaowed at her... ... read more

Hello! After getting up at half 5 to catch our bus (which was late!) and then over half a days travelling we made it to Krabi... first impressions not that great! Possibly because we're very tired but also we are in quite a dirty run down area, maybe once we reach the beach everything will be fine, we're planning to go kayakking here and maybe get in some snorkelling :) the owner of the hostel is odd, although we are not supposed to think of him as the owner, but as family, he is sweet but strange! we spent our last night on Koh Samui just chilling out on the beach which was really nice and still very warm even when it got late, there were people setting off lots of fireworks and chinese laterns so ... read more

We have left the hustle and bustle on Bangkok and have headed south! We only got a bit of sleep on the night train as Amelia and I we're on the top bunks, so we were worried we would fall out. We arrived to a little beach resort a few hours ago and we are staying here for a few nights. Going to do some island hopping and then fly up to Chiang Mai to go elephant trekking =) xoxo... read more
