So.... our Whitsundays trip was pretty amazing!

We began with a briefing from our host/cook/entertainer Dave (picture long blonde dreads, 25 with a ridicuously loud voice but a little girls body) who began by telling us, how ever much alcohol we had, it wasnt enough so we went off to buy more goon (cheap, rank wine) and some sea sickness tablets for Amelia, the most motionsick girl ever. We boarded the boat and met our other crew member Ash (dark hair, 33, acted about 5 and secretly married) who also owned the boat. We put our things away and began sunbathing and drinking...

We spent all day sailing, we were the only two to help with the sails and steering the boat, and spent most of our time with the crew. Dave cooked a lovely dinner (Amelia ate all her fish!) and we stopped close to whitehaven beach and had a chilled night, sleeping on top of the boat as it was a beautiful night and they had tents to cover the boat incase it rained. The next morning we got up early and after breakfast (including hot cross buns as it was easter sunday!) headed to whitehaven beach, which has such pure sand they used it to make the hubble telescope and it is illegal to steal any! Being easter Ash had bought us easter eggs (and was wearing a bunny hat), which we persuaded him to hide and do an egg hunt. His method however was to walk up to the bushes and throw the eggs everywhere, not exactly a hunt, but very fun! After scoffing these, and taking some pictures, we rolled around in the sand, trying to exfoliate every inch of ourselves (even brushed our teeth with the sand!) and then watched some giant lizards chase each other around. Ash picked us back up and we headed towards another island where we got out to do snorkelling (wearing very attractive stinger suits!) there were sooooo many fish, and Ash threw food on our heads so the fish were everywhere, and slapping us in the face! After this we showered (only 1 minute each allowed!) and sailed off to our next stop for the night. On the way we saw dolphins, watched Dave feed an eagle and sang along to his Disney playlist! We had dinner, and got back on the goon! (helped Dave dry up and got served first!) The guys had organised some party games but first it was fancy dress time! In Ashs room he pulled out a box of costumes, choosing a pink and black lace corset and skirt for himself, a mini tongarra crop top and skirt for Amelia (nicely named the tongarra slut outfit!) and a twister dress for Lily with a bandana and a bubble wand. Dave put on a little sailors dress and thong (and kept bending over. not nice!) and we were told by Ash that when they go out dressed as girls (is this normal?!) Dave often gets chatted up by guys as he looks very feminine! When we reached the top of the boat we werent prepared to see everyone else was dressed up, all the guys in dresses and all the girls in a variety of strange things! We got into teams and played a few games, the worst being guys having to lick vegemite out of a girls bellybutton (luckily we didnt participate in this one!) and in the end Amelia´s team won (getting a bag of sweets that Lilys team mostly ate!) We next played a drinking game ´Racehorses´ using cards, to bet on which horse (suit) would win. Dave named the horses after STIs so there was various cries of ´go chylamidia´and ´i have herpes!´ defintely entertaining! After this whilst putting the costumes away, due to being so tired (and nothing to do with drink) Amelia passed out on Ash´s bed and he left her to tell Lily, who came and attempted to wake her but couldnt, so left her to play more games. Whilst Ash was weeing over the back of the boat, the dutch boy pushed him off into jellyfish infested water, and his own wee, very amusing! Everybody went to sleep outside, but Ash and Dave forgot to put up the tent and it rained at 4am, soaking everyone, except Amelia who was still inside, sleeping away oblivious!

The following morning there were a fair few hangovers, and an early morning snorkelling session, in which we saw a turtle! We then sailed back in the sun and got back to Airlie just after midday. Once off the boat, everything was still swaying for the next few hours! That night we went out with people from our boat and Ash and Dave, and had a very funny night, although Dave got kicked out early on, and Ash got a bit emotional! The following morning we got a bus to townsville and a connecting ferry to Magnetic island, where we spent our two days chilling by the pool doing nothing! We had a free night, as it was ladies night so we got free drinks and then Amelia won a bottle of champagne in a flexibility competition (although she had an ashthma attack from drinking it) so we paid for nothing! We danced on tables in our hostel, right on the beach with amazing views in a remote place (so remote, a possum ran on to the dance floor!) The next day we headed to mission beach, but there is nothing really to write about it as it was raining and we didnt really do anything! After mission we went to Cairns, on our final greyhound bus journey! We had an uneventful first night (although there was a massive flood, we were about the only people not affected!) and the next morning set off to cape tribulation in the Daintree rainforest! It was raining and what we thought would be a tour, actually just involved us being dropped at a dirty hostel and left! Luckily, we made two lovely friends, from Kent and spent our two days with them, keeping each other laughing! we went on a few walks (one was so rainy, we basically drowned, had to walk through a crocodile infested river and passed two nudes on the beach) and played scrabble, not many people have done that in the middle of the rainforest! Our one night there was a saturday night and the lights and music were going on the dancefloor, although there was about 8 people about (including us 4). Two local boys kept buying us ´jungle juice´ and tried to make us go to a party, we left it to Frankie to come up with an excuse why we wouldnt go, her best attempt being ´thing is, i´ll get irritable, and you dont want that´. Once back at our hostel we went straight for food and the two boys next to us heard us say about Dorset so began chatting to us (one had been to school in lyme regis, the other was canadian) and we were getting on really well, when we said we should go to our room because Frankie and Tabby (from cape trib) were coming over. It was then we discovered these guys were in our room... so strange! They warned us about a strange londener in our room (Ash) who always used the catchphrases "that just happened", "woof" and "thats for me/you." As soon as we saw him he used the phrases, and we tried so hard not to laugh! (we had also already seen him at Airlie beach and remarked how much he looked like our friend from home so were sneakily trying to get a photo of him!) Frank and Tabs came over and met our roomates and we chilled in for the night. Frankie however when chatting to Ash, told him he looked like a poo, to which he naturally replied thats racist, she claimed it wasnt as he was just english and tanned, he was actually Malyasian! The next day we went on a boat trip to the great barrier reef where we spent the day snorkelling (half the boat were seasick, it was so rough, and Amelia wasnt for once!!!) and took full advantage of the free food (about 12 biscuits each with our tea!). Lily swam over a turtle and tried to beckon Amelia over, but saw a jellyfish and swam away as quick as she could! That evening we had changed hostels but went back to room 118 in Gilligans where we drank with our old roomies and Frank and Tabs. Out on the balcony we spotted friends from Magnetic Island and met up with them too- We then all went out together! Unfortuntely Amelia was spotted in Gilligans as a non guest and got kicked out, banned from their club and the nasty man attemped to ban her from all the clubs around but failed! We went instead to The Woolshed and had a fun night dancing away (much was forgotton, but remembered by the evidence on Tab´s camera!) The next day we shopped and had our last Aus meal with Frankie and Tabs before one last 118 meeting! The next morning we headed to the airport and flew down to Sydney. We arrived at the airport at 6pm, but our flight out wasnt till 12pm the next day, so there was a lot of hanging around, using free internet and a night spent sleeping on the airport chairs (joined by Ash, the ´woof´boy from 118!) needless to say we were knackered the next day, and spent our flight to New Zealand sleeping. We then flew onto Argentina and arrived technically only 3 hours later than we had left Aus - time zones sooo confusing! We got the public bus, twice, and wandered for hours before finally finding our hostel, and sleeping till 4.30pm the next day! We went out that night, and soon discovered how forward Argentinan men are! Luckily we had a friend Juan from the hostel looking after us! We didnt go out till 2am and got home at 6.30am, so slept until 7pm today, whoops! We have discovered it is very unusual for English people to come here, and barely anybody speaks english, it is quite a challenge!

Although when we first arrived in Aus, we just missed Asia, and complained about how expensive it was, we slowly began to love it and it feels strange to have changed continent again, we definetely took for granted how easy it was there! However, 3 pound for a pizza... we´re def gonna love Arg!
