Asia December 17th 2010

Another experience, another land, new culture, different religion (almost same food!!) ...well, another chapter of my Life :) Im currently sitting at the International Airport of Ho Chi Minh, waiting for my flight to Kuala Lumpur. Well well...can you believe we missed our flight? Yes, we really did. We were convinced that it was at 1pm, did not even bother to check...it was at 10.30 am. Perfect. Luckily they changed it with not much drama, so now we wait. That's good, at least I can update my travel blog, since I never had the possibility of doing it given the slow internet connections Vietnam has to offer (except in the airports!!). So..VIET NAM. They say that few countries have changed so much over such a short time as Vietnam. If you think about it, it was ... read more

Asia » Cambodia December 4th 2010

Cambodia has been very good to me. Abandoned temples, impenetrable jungles, arcing white-sand beaches full of swaying palms, funny monkeys, lovely and smiling locals, that’s what Cambodia is all about. We left Kuala Lumpur on the 27th, quite happy to leave such a busy city and discover a truly different country. It was exciting to arrive at Siem Reap International Airport, already at that point we realized how exotic this country would be. We stayed at a very cozy place, 1 km from the center of the city, but all we wanted to see was Angkor Wat really. It was a constant thought, I couldn’t wait to see what has been the hearth and the soul of Cambodia for almost two millennia. We needed a whole day to visit most of the temples, so on our ... read more

It was a long flight. This was the first time in my life I had no idea of how long the journey would take. I just didn' t want to know it. So I just hopped on the plane and hoped it wouldn' t take too long. Couldn' t be more wrong! It was the longest flight of my life... (yes, even longer than Rome-Brisbane!)Soooooo tremendously boring. I felt like I had nothing to do... first I watched some episodes of Family Guy on my laptop..then I played some games, then I ate, I stood up, went for a walk... and at the point I realized I was reading my french book for an exam I will have in February back in DK..I decided to sleep. (When I felt asleep I had my cup of tea in ... read more

In the air (Gold Coast Australia – Kuala Lumpur Malaysia) AirAsia, 2.14 pm Hello everyone! Today, 23rd of November our trip to Asia has finally began. At the moment I’ m sitting on an Airasia Airbus A330-300 on my way to Kuala Lumpur. Believe it or not, my experience in Australia has already come to an end. I must admit, it went really fast. I had a really good time while studying in Brisbane, met some nice people that I’m sure I will catch up with once I’ m back in Denmark, some other people disappointed me very much, and some others will remain in my heart..but I know with regret that maybe I’m not going to see them anymore. All the exams have been done (I could add that I have been studying in ... read more

I know.. I have not been writing you for sooooo long! I m so sorry, but it has been a very busy semester, with studying and yes, I had a job as well :) I was working at The Institute for Social Science of my Uni. It was a well paid job, something relevant to add in my curriculum, but not as fancy as it may sound ;) So so so... Lots of things have been happening. I had a mid-semester break in the beginning of November. We decided to go on a road trip and let me tell you...we couldn't have chosen better!Definitely one of the best trips of my life!4 people, one car!! So, we flew north, precisely in Cairns. This city is 2500 km from Brisbane :) So, it wouldn't have been wise to ... read more

So, school has started. I have chosen some really interesting courses which engage me in activities that I find challenging! In my new course "Advertising Strategy" I have to come up with a potential commercial which "LEGO" could use to develop their profile. Uhhhh! :)))Niceness!!! The campus is very different than the one I' m used to at Copenhagen ... read more

Finally I touched the Australian Land, well...actually I did so on wednesday, exactly at 2 o' clock in the morning. What can I say? So far I did still not suffer the jet leg..maybe because I have been doing soo much since I arrived. Having had 5 hours of decent sleep at "Somewhere to Stay" -a ver nice hostel @ West End - I woke up at 8 and went to campus! And let me just tell you: the St.Lucia Campus of University of Queensland is just FANTASTIC! I mean, it has like everything, is like a town!! I promise I ll soon post some pics! Well, at campus I opened my australian bank account, I enrolled for courses (I must say, I got some pretty nice ones, one is about China and its potential to ... read more

And after stopping in Dubai for precisely 2 hours, we arrived in Singapore! Must admit, loved the city but could never live here! EVERYTHING is soooo clean and ordered! Did u know that they give u a fine for anything you do? I mean..you are not allowed to drink water on the train! And if you ask why, they say its because they obviously dont want their trains to get wet! :O Nevertheless, we stayed at a hostel for backpackers in Little India!Very cozy, met an Australian guy from Sidney who had dinner with us! Everything was fine, except the air conditioning that was right on top of my bed! :/ But good enough! Went sightseeing in the morning, and now we are waiting for our flight to Brisbane, which will depart at 2.40 p.m! Arrival ... read more
