Great job
Bravo on the marathon. A tea break is a good idea.

Svante Kellner

TIME OUT
What better way to travel in Morocco than to run...run in a half marathon in the desert...yeh...way to go. Nice to see you allowed yourself time for refreshment...a water stop with a difference. Brilliant!

Zagora
Great photos and commentary about the race. I passed through Zagora in 1994. That big Timbuctou sign was up there at that time. Instead of 52 days, it took me 14 years before I followed up with a journey to Timbuktu.

We love Morocco
Very cool experience. Thank you for sharing. It makes sense they measured the travel in days....wow, 52.

Morocco is still one of our favorite trips
We visited Erfoud so your blog brought back some great memories. We really enjoyed Essaoira and all the fresh fish. We enjoyed exploring the fort, the water front and found many people to talk with about their town.

Enver Hoxha's Grave, intact?
I thought Hoxha's grave was disturbed by a massive earth quake in the area as also the grave of Mother Teresa's father. Later, was the Hoxha's grave somehow repaired and a marker placed on it? Where is Mother Teresa's father's grave ? Helene Turnbull, Circle Pines, Minnesota, USA

Don't know anything about any earthquake
What you are saying about the earthquake is not something I've heard of before. I have heard that his grave has been moved from one location to another though. Ake

Snövit
Svart som sot, röd som blod, vit som snö. Stämmer för Vitryssland?

Färger i Vitryssland
Jag minns de underbara färgerna i Vitryssland. De starkaste var den blåa himlen och det gröna gräset. De slår svart, rött och vitt under den årstid jag var där

Very much enjoyed hearing about Panama
A location we have not made it to yet but have enjoyed your descriptions. Love, love, love the star fish photos. Sounds like the border crossing was a hassle but glad they allowed you to move along. I guess that is how they get their entertainment.

Cool!
Panama will always remain one of my favorite places in the world, if not my absolute favorite. Loved the bit about the frog turning into a grim reaper instead of a prince. Happy and safe travels to you two!

Mudpot
The mud of a mudpot takes the form of a viscous, often bubbling, slurry. As the boiling mud is often squirted over the brims of the mudpot, a sort of mini-volcano of mud starts to build up, sometimes reaching heights of 3–5 feet. Although mudpots are often called "mud volcanoes", true mud volcanoes are very different in nature. The mud of a mudpot is generally of white to greyish color, but is sometimes stained with reddish or pink spots from iron compounds. When the slurry is particularly colorful, the feature may be referred to as a paint pot. http://www.traveltomachupicchu.org

Glad you weren't running from a volcano!
Great adventures--waterfalls and volcanoes--what could be better? The films were fantastic--we could really see the boiling bubbles! Thanks for taking us along!

Wonderful wildlife!
What great animals you saw! I love the turtle tracks (so fab to know an animal from its tracks) and also the basilisk that I only knew from Harry Potter (so I had to look it up on the web) and the so sweet sloths. And "oh shit"--I read that in any language it's the most common expression before one dies in an accident. So glad you didn't die and just got wiped out from a wave! Happy travels!
