Thanks for your messages. It is great to know you are looking at our blogs. We arrived on Koh Ngai 2 days ago by speed boat and had to wade through the shallow water to the shore while some handy Thai men carried our backpacks and accumulated paraphenalia. We have a lovely wooden 'villa' on the beach with an open air shower/bathroom which even has a small garden in it. We finally seem to have found a resort that doesn't need to play thumping music until the early hours - at last! The beach is very beautiful, albeit a little lumpy with pieces of coral. You have to be careful not to tread on the hermit crabs. The sea is crystal clear and you can swim to a good reef just off the shore. The water ... read more

Hello, welcome. Here it is, finally. Adam's travel blog. Soon to be full to bursting with, no doubt, the most exciting events ever to have occurred on the planet (or, more likely, many complaints about bugs). Sorry I took so long to get this set up. I did actually set one up when I arrived in Bangkok. Unfortunately, I forgot the login details. So, here I am almost two weeks into my trip. I've been in Bangkok (crazy), Krabi (sleepy), Tonsai (Climby) and now Trang (kindly). I've added some photo's from the last few weeks below. There has been lots of stuff happening, but rather than recount them here now, I'll save them for lulls in excitement. img=http://file018b.bebo.com/14/large/2006/12/18/07... read more

Ganz ehrlich. Thailand ist schoen, schoenes Wetter, gutes Essen, nette Menschen alles was man so kennt.
Tuktuk in Trang

And so the endless summer continues!! We have just finished our relaxation time in Ko Libong. Originally we though we would go to Ko Lanta but some people we met said that the retreat (Nature Reserve) in Ko Libong was a great place. It took us a while to get to Ko Libong. First buses, then Tuk Tuk's, Long tail boats and finally a motorbike taxi! Ko Libong is famous for it's Dugong's. You may know them as sea cows. We never actually saw any but the theme through the reserve was definitly evident. On our stay we did a snorkelling trip to the surrounding islands. Ko Kradan and Ko Muk where probably the nicest. At Ko Muk there is a secluded beach called the 'Emerald Cave'. You have to swim 80 metres through a cavern ... read more

we stayed an extra day in krabi town after phi phi island to wait for matt and claire who had been off taming cobras in khao sok national park and snorkeling and living for free on the similan islands. after 2 months deliberating whether or not to spend the money on a camera, dave decided it was time to stop messing around, and after getting a good deal from one of the camera shops in town, a shiny fuji was purchased, should keep him quiet for a few days! the ride to trang was less eventful than most bus journeys, only a couple of incidents were present that caused fear for our lives and we arrived safe and sound in the northern bus terminal and walked the 1km route to the minibus station to take us ... read more

After Ko Tarutao and a night in Pak Bara on the mainland (sharing our shower with a cockraoch and a frog!) we had to work out how to head towards Ko Pha Ngan miles further north and on the opposite coast in time for the full moon party on the 13th. The only obvious place to head to was Trang which is known for little more than being a transport centre for trips to the West coast. I actually found it quite nice to be in a city again (albeit a pretty small city) where there was traffic and noise in contrast to the peace and serenity of the previous few stops. The highlight of the town was an impressive night-market with hundreds of stalls of weird and wonderful looking and smelling foods. I'm starting to ... read more

I'm in Trang, a city of approximately 70,000. I left Koh Lipe this morning by boarding a longtail boat from the shallow water of the beach near the Mountain Resort. There is no pier on Koh Lipe. You arrive and depart the island by longtail boat (40 baht per person; $1). I like it personally. It adds to the experience and forces people to get a little wet. :) There are 3-4 ferries per day during the high season (the ferries don't operate during the low season due to choppy seas). I chose the fastest boat ($14) which left at 10:00. It cuts an hour off the travel time from the next fastest boat (1 1/2 hours vs 2 1/2 hours) for only a couple of more dollars. Recovering from being ill, no need to be ... read more
