Bangkok Airport
This airport is new and very beautiful. We arrived in Bangkok late afternoon on December 23rd with Amy and Paul and my luggage didn't show up!! But luckily it was just put on another plane and it arrived about 8 hours later. We grabbed a cab and headed off for Khao San Road (hot spot for travellers), and found Bear (Kyle). How great it was to spot that blonde mohawk and get a big hug from my brother!!! Then we were off to the Buddy Lodge, and we headed up to the roof top pool and kicked off the trip with some tequilla shots and beers. CHEERS!! The next day we all headed to Bangkok's famous weekend market that sprawls across 30 acres. Here you will find monkey's, degrees, clothes, food, and anything you can think of for sale. Oh and you'll get lost and freak out by the mass amount of people. This place is not for those who are clausterphobic. We found some good deals then Amy and I headed back to the hotel on a tuk tuk and the boys actually out shopped us and stayed another 3 hours and took scooters home. That night we headed out for some drinks at a bar on

Hanging out on our balcony at the hotel. Khao San. We were offered many times to see the Ping Pong show and we saw many Lady Boys, which for some reason are very popular in Bangkok. Kyle even befriended one...lol maybe it's because they had the same "long live the king shirt" on. That same night we also dabled in eating some of the foreign food, grasshoppers, maggots and frogs. Ok only the boys ate it, but trust me it was gross!!!! We partied that night away and of course chatted it up with many other foreigners visiting Thailand. The next day was Christmas and I thought that it would be a quiet morning with no kiddies around.....WRONG! Amy, Paul and Kyle came jumping on us early in the morning to wish us a Merry Christmas. The day before we had drawn names from a hat to buy each other a gift. It was a great idea as it was really fun to get to open at least one present. After that it was a mad dash to eat and get to the airport. On the way there in the cab, Mr. Big came on and we all belted it out, the poor cab driver thought we were
Balcony Shot Again
That's Bear, Paul and Amy. crazy but hey it was Christmas day and we were having fun. That is about it for Bangkok, we didn't spend much time there and we know we definetly want to go back. Bangkok has large beautiful buildings that are surrounded by small shacks. It is odd to see a magnificent stadium amongst the poorest homes I have ever seen. This also was my first up close look at the sex industry. There are many men and women who work in this industry and many foreigners who engage in exploiting them. Amongst the good food and cheap drinks and fun bars there is a reality check of how other people live their lives. It was fun and eye opening, and that is what travelling is all about.................
