Ko Samui is quite a nice little island. It has one of the coolest little airports that we've ever seen. It was a few open, thatched roofed buildings with some really nice grounds. From here we made our way to our resort which was a nice little place pretty much on the beach. Our time in Ko Samui ended up being a bit more chilled than Lisa and I would have liked because Lisa had the flu for the first few days and then she sunburned her feet so bad they blistered and were swollen. So, our nights were pretty relaxed. Because we weren't out partying all night we were getting up earlier and hitting the beach which was really good. Mid morning and early afternoon was the best time for the sun because every day at about 2 o'clock it would get cloudy and windy and cool down. It made us a bit sad that we missed out on the nightlife on Samui because from the stories and pictures that Kyle, Paul, and Amy showed us there were a lot of crazy parties going on. There is no shortage of good memories from the island though. One night we went

No security at this place. to the Muay Thai fights. It was an awesome event to go to. We learned a lot about the history and tradition of the fighting and thought that the pre-fight ceremony was pretty cool!! There were 8 fights on the bill. Two of the fights were young kids. But the rest were adult fighters. The fights were action packed and 2 of them ended up being knock outs. The fighters were face on the ground out cold for a few seconds. But they got up and were gracious losers about it. Probably our most memorable day on the island was when we rented scooters and cruised the island. It was crazy rippin' around up and down huge, windey roads, going through the jungle, listening to Amy scream, " Paul, slow down. Oh my god i'm going to die. Let me off" for the entire day. After a few hours of riding we made it to this place where you hiked up to this waterfall. It was an amazing hike. We could see elephants off in the distance, there were some monkeys that you could play with, and it was great to be outside away from people in the lush jungle.
The hike was actually kind of challenging, but boy was it worth it!! The scenery and the waterfalls were something right out of a movie. As I sat there I just kept thinking how lucky I am to see such a beautiful place. Swimming under this waterfall in the very cold, clean, fresh jungle water. I didn't want to leave!! We really liked Samui. We didn't get to enjoy the nightlife but hey we were on holiday and we felt relaxed and refreshed after our time here.

Wow! What a beautiful place. You should also steal a monkey and bring it home for me. Jeffry would kill you, but he would learn to love it!
