eremy writing....Well it is the end of my second full day and I am tired! These kids are wild, but I feel like a bit of a rock star. Today I got on the kindy bus and the kids screamed my name like I was one of the Beatles in their prime. They mobbed me and grabbed my hands. Everywhere Jen goes people ask her if she is a movie star. And for the record, even though I feel like a rock star, I realize they are probably making fun of me-at least the teenagers we see in the streets. The little ones are too angelic-I think. I guess it is the novelty of seeing someone different. The vast majority of people I pass on the way to work are Asian. I think so far I ... read more

Jeremy writing.....My day did not begin well on Wednesday morning. On what was supposed to be such a great day of departure, my alarm failed to go off at 4:30 and I snapped awake at 6:46 AM. My flight was to leave at 7:59 AM and I live 30 minutes away from the airport. To boot, my car was not loaded up. I called my friend Lisa who was supposed to take me to the airport to tell her what happened. I decided to make a mad dash for it and I asked her if she could get my car at the airport. God love her she said OK. I dressed quickly, threw on a hat, and carried my luggage out and threw it in the car. No telling what I accidentally left behind. I took ... read more

Well, Jeremy has already spoken about of first day back together. It was fun working together and the kids already love him. Tonight all the foreign teachers at the school and our directors are going to have a welcome dinner for him. It will be his first time trying Korean food. I'm really hoping to someday have him off of the Checkers, Sonic, Long John Silver's (ugghhh!!!), pizza diet he has done so well at maintaining. This weekend we will explore the city some together and will be posting some pictures so our friends and family can see where we're living. ... read more

The next three days will feel like a lifetime, but once he gets here it will all be worth it. I am so excited to do our apartment together and to explore the city together. This will all be quite the experience I'm sure. We'll keep all of you posted......... read more

Well, I have finally arrived in South Korea and have settled in for the most part. First impressions are that I'm going to have a wonderful experience here. The school I joined is nice and the other teachers are all very friendly and laid back. Of course teaching is a new experience for me and there will be a leaning curve. I'm teaching all ages from kindergarten up to fifth grade. I forgot how energetic kids are! I'm sure I'll learn a lot in the process as well. As far as the town, it's beautiful. It's not nearly as foreign to me as I assumed it would be. I start Korean lessons this Saturday, but for the most part I spend my time missing Jeremy and my family (which includes my friends of course) and looking ... read more

Here is the low down on South Korea--  If you want a Korean girlfriend.. Some korean girls go to the "western bars and clubs" where foreigners hang out.. and there will usually be some girls at your job.. Of course, you can always touch the "personals ads". That's your preference! As far as location, the Seoul and the surrounding areas are the most idea locations for an exciting teaching experience. If you teach ESL HERE, usually your accomodations will be provided for .. and more than likely your roommate would be another foreign teacher from your school.. The rooms are small and apartments are cramp. Everything here is small. Welcome to South Korea! If you do not have a pc, do not worry! There are tons of PC BANGS around. It's pretty cheap as well.. one ... read more
