ROAD TRIP 2ème étape: Cébu 1er JOUR : Cébu City Après avoir eu plus de 3h de retard pour l’avion qui nous amène de Manille à Cebu City, nous retrouvons Lucie et son frère qui vont partager nos vacances pour quelques jours. Cebu est une sorte de petit Manille (2ème ville du pays), en beaucoup moins animé, moins bruyant et moins embouteillé. Nous la découvrons pendant une demi-journée en traversant le centre de la ville à pied. L’histoire de Cébu est marquée par l’arrivée de Magellan en 1521 qui apporta le zèle missionnaire. A partir de cette date, la ville a connu de multiples incursions de conquistadors. The sun hesitantly shines through a thick blanket of clouds as acres and acres of sugarcane protrude from both sides of the highway. It has been three hours of an uneventful bus ride in search of a nice vantage point for a shot of the Mt. Kanlaon, and as unremarkable town structures gradually pave way for majestic views of fields and the mountain ranges at the horizon, there's the lingering sense that I'm headed deep into a rarely ventured territory. Situated between Cebu and Panay, the island of Negros has seen relatively fewer tourists than the Visayan heavyweights. Negros Occidental, west of the mountain range that splits the island into two provinces, particularly receives less visitors.
