In order to escape the hectic life in Kathmandu and so that i would be able to see a bit more of this beautiful country I decided to take the "tourist bus" to Pokhara, so 180 km, and 8hrs!!!! later after a bumpy ride through the country and stopping at minor interupations like landslides and road blocks our bus arrived in Pokhara. A beautiful little city ( the 2nd largest in Nepal) right at the Lake and with the Annnapurna range in the backdrop! Pokhara is the gateway for all the trekkers who are hiking in the Annapurnas, and so it is also quite touristy, but way more relaxed then busy Thamel in Kathmandu!
So after checking in my hotel, walking along the lakefront for a bit i turned into a local pub and met two other single travelers, Jehanne from Belguim and James from England, and since we had so much fun sharing a drink, we decided to hang out for dinner. The fun of traveling: one always meets other interesting and adventurous people! Since all three of us were in Pokhara to just hang out, we decided to hike up to the World Peace Pagoda which overlooks the

Lake the next morning. Unfortunately Pokhara has been under a haze cloud cover, and so we never did get to see the stunning Annapurna range that one can usually see from the Lake... bummer... but i guess that's what postcards are for 😊. Plus James and Jehanne had trekked in the region and assured me that the Annapurnas are as stunning as the postcards show.
So after a morning of hiking we rented a rowboat nepali style for the afternoon and spent a few hours on the Lake , followed by a great dinner and an unforgetable evening at Laila's Bar 😊.
Since we had so much fun together, and i really wanted to go rafting one more time, and neither Jehanne, nor James had really rafted before, we signed up for a 1/2 day on the upper Seti River! A class 3 river that was a nice intro and a fun way to spend the morning!
After a couple of nice banana lassies (a local joghurt drink that is absolutly delicious) and lunch it was time to part ways again and i am now back in Kathmandu! And yes, i went bourgouis style back to Kathamandu with

A couple fishing for the evening meal maybe?
Yeti Airlines in 30 min flight time instead of the long bus ride... 😊 The small luxuries in life!

anyhow, tomororw it is off to Bangkok and new adventures in Thailand! I am already so excited for the food! Cannot wait... there is only so much Dhal Bhat one can eat 😊

namaste and so long
