Yeah, i know you might think: can this girl ever get enough of the adventure sports? 😊 but i have to tell you, this one is a must do for the whiterwater enthusiasts, and so i simply could not pass the chance to go on a 2-day raft trip with Drift Nepal.
According to the "travel bible" Lonely Planet, the Bhote Khosi is "one of the best short raft trips found anywhere in the world", and now i can tell you that IT IS SO TRUE! Amazing white water- non stop rapids great 3-5, big water, plenty of rocks to avoid, and on top of all that a stunning scenery through the valleys, with rice fields and villages along the way! (well, you don't have to much time to check out the scenery, because you are constantly keeping your eyes on the river! 😊 So whoever thought that Nepal is only good for trekking and mountaineering, way wrong! The rafting is great as well... the water is quite cold though! Even now when air temperatures are still summery! But in the heat of the moment, you absolutly have no time to think about the fact that this is a glacier run-off river! Way to much action! I guess the only time you'd feel it is if you were to fall in... and this is not the river where one would want to go swimming! 😊

I wish I could show you some pictures, but Nepal is not quite as commercialized when it comes to rafting as the rest of the world, so no camera team paddles ahead to take photos like it is done on so many other commercial rafting trips. Nevertheless, check out www.driftnepal.com.np/rivers/bhotekoshi_river_rafting.htm and you can get an idea of what it was like! BRILLIANT!
Plus imagine the added benefit of breathing mountain air again (which is very much needed after a couple of days in the smog of Kathmandu!

Well, Namaste and until Pokhara in a day or so .... just got to keep traveling 😊
