Oh the mighty Mountains! My two favorites!
So here i am back in Kathmandu after 15 days of hiking, trekking, and experiencing the Himalayans, and i am at a complete loss for words.... it must be that i am still lacking oxygen after spending nearly a week between 4800 and 5600m , or it might just be that i am not articulate enough to express or describe the beauty of these mountains , the compassion and kindness of its simple people , the emotions felt when hiking trough fresh snow at 6 am where my footprints are the first ones of the morning , while the first sunrays illuminate the peaks around me. The freezing cold on the top of Kala Pattar (-20 C) or the amazing 360 view from Gokyo Ri at first light with Mt Everest dominating the scenery in all its magic, or the snow crunching under my boots when we crossed over the Chola Pass and Glacier and feeling light as air after the steepest climb up ever to get to the pass, or seeing the tents of the Thai expedition at the Base Camp to Mt. Everest at the Khumbu icefall that I had read about in so

not so sure what these kids think of the North Face crowd coming through their villages...
many books... i am not sure, how to tell the story in a few words on a blog, so enjoy the pictures and more details to follow later... i will now enjoy a cold Everest beer. and will then snuggle into my bed (not crawl into my sleeping bag) and will dream of the beauty of the mountains.

cheers my friends and Namaste

ps. btw, anyone that is reading this and is interested in doing a similar trip - or any other trek in Nepal, please send me a comment, and i' d be happy to refer you to my awesome guide Shyam or you can email him directly at guideinnepal@yahoo.com!
