Mitaka
Just a few paces outside the station As promised, before any other entries, I would very much like to present to all of you a glimpse of the Ghibli Museum. These were all taken on January 4th, as a reference, the day before Daniel went back home.
From the moment Aimee, Daniel, and I stepped off the train at Mitaka (the town where the museum was located), it was no wonder to me that Miyazaki grew up there. The very walk to the museum showed glimpses of where his imagination came from. We got there about 45 minutes early, so we had lunch and took a walk around the park surrounding the museum. We were also on the last leg of the tour, so we were only there for 2 hours. However, I fully intend to go back a few times before my stay here is done.
I suppose I won't say too much and instead let the few pictures I have do the talking. Miyazaki clearly designed the museum with the eyes of children (and those with any imaginations left) in mind. It was immaculate down to the very last detail. I'm sorry that I couldn't get many pictures, but at the same time, pictures
Hey Let's Go
A bus to the museum. We decided to walk since it was only 15 minutes away on foot. don't really begin to do justice what the three of us saw there. To this day, it is the truest piece of honest magic I have found in Tokyo. If you ever get the chance to come to Japan and are near Tokyo, this is a MUST on your stop. It is worth every meager yen coin spent. And I say meager because the price is CHEAP, about 1,000 yen ($10 or so) per full-grown adult, and kids are even cheaper.
Anyway.. On to the pictures!

Price...
Correction: 1,000 yen per person. Remember, it was 3,000 for you, me, and Aimee collectively.
