We arrived in Yogyakarta after the bus dropped us off @ 0330, we were escorted through the narrow winding roads of Yogyakarta by freindly locals who seemed to know exactly how tired and sore we were! We arrived at the coolest guest house ever! with wild murals on the wall, and an "honor system" beer fridge! awesome.

In our endless search for a good deal, we tried to swing a deal to get the room at a discount as we were arriving @ 4am... no go , discounts start @ 5am, but the manager of the guest house would hold our bags while we went to Borodopur, and Prambanan.... We wanted to go anyway and though we would have rather slept, it was a good deal (breakfast included!) so we got on a 5 am bus to Borodopur!

Borodopur is the largest buddist temple in the world, and was built with out mortar rather the blocks were each cut from volcanic stone to fit like a jigsaw puzzle. We were able to get there early enough to have the place largely to ourselves and to catch sunset over the 432 buddhas.
