Today we finally got out stuff together and got out of Anjuna! In retrospect, the past week has been a really big damper on the mood of our trip. We don't have much energy, we can't eat much, and now Jamie only has a few days left, so we have to stick to South Goa, which isn't a very happening place. The night after I wrote the last entry...yep, you guessed it, we got sick again! Another night of sickness, and so started day 6 on Anjuna Beach. As the day progressed, we both got better, but still had to stay another night. Today when we left with a taxi all the way to Colva, I wasn't in the least bit sad to leave. It was raining in Goa when we arrived however this is to be expected as the Monsoon is everywhere. It is the first time I have taken a long train journey but it was actually quite good and comfortable and we did not get bored, I am sure that the novelty will wear off soon though… We took a small bus crammed with 80 people to Colva where Jim arranged a very good value hotel (whilst I drank lots of beer!) in Colva, 10km west of Margao. Its ok here, as it is off season it is cheap, the downside is that there is no people here so the resort feels a bit empty, the sea is also very rough so there is no chance swimming unfortunately. Some first impressions of India: The men seem to be raised to be aggressive at times and also openly leacherous. Women always wear something flowing and conservative with sandals. Each looks like a princess to me. Beautiful, thick black hair, dark skin and those royal, colorful clothes! But men dress quite Western. Everyone always likes to be in a crowd. This is the only place I've ever seen people standing around at the beach, fully clothed in large groups. Whether in or out of the water! As a single white woman, I'm never alone for long before some guy invites himself to join me. Obviously, it doesn't matter if I care or not.
